Bio

I learned how to play guitar at age 10. I can remember the early challenges I overcame and I enjoy helping early learners tackle these challenges is good form. "Have fun and learn a lot" is what you can expect. Also loads of encouragement!

I have experience teaching young students to adults. What I can help with is quick recognition of an issue along with an immediate correction. Also, no one needs harsh correction. Since I have made all these mistakes, I know its no big deal- we just fix...

I have experience teaching young students to adults. What I can help with is quick recognition of an issue along with an immediate correction. Also, no one needs harsh correction. Since I have made all these mistakes, I know its no big deal- we just fix it and move along. Its not just a phrase "have fun and learn a lot" it is how I want you to feel every time you pick up your guitar.

I have worked in studios for corporate promotional videos as well as playing live at weddings and other special occasions These situations require precision and a "getting it right the first time" approach.

1) Writing and performing professional recordings for a Florida based advertising firm.
2) Playing solo performances in New Orleans clubs.
3) Wrote and performed "Cajun Navy" theme song used for the Louisiana Cajun Navy promotional video.
4) Selected as Hospital manager of the quarter at Ochsner Hospital for work with music therapy for patients.
5) Selected as musician of the quarter for Musicians on Call, a national organization for musicians performing music for patients in the hospital.

"Have fun and learn a lot" is the approach you can expect. Along with lots of encouragement.

Ear Training,

Ear Training

For guitarists, it is a plus to be able to play music by ear to better understand how to listen to melodies and hear chord changes. I work with students to ensure they develop this skill as they develop their skills as a musician. I have been teaching guitar for more than 10 years and I have successfully trained students to enhance their skills through focusing on this important component of their musical skills.
General Music,

General Music

Guitar music: For more than 10 years I have taught students to play guitar utilizing the concepts and music theory along with an introduction to music notation. I also make certain to work with what the student already knows about music and what they like. I will fashion the lessons in a manner that ensures that they are engaged in the process. Also, since I learned to play guitar at a very early age, I can help younger learners overcome the physical challengers these students encounter. An example of this is demonstrating proper techniques to greatly enhance performance and skill level

Guitar

I have taught beginner to intermediate guitar students for more than 10 years. My experience as a guitarist ranges from playing solo in venues in New Orleans to professional studio work. Although the target is for accomplishment, the goal is to have lots of fun. No pressure- lots of encouragement!
Songwriting

Songwriting

I have several published pieces of music that I have published and were used for either radio ads or for corporate promotions . This is a fun skill that also enhances your understanding of melodies and something that is totally original from you.
