Qualifications for “algebra 2”

I have taught high school math and tutored several students in Algebra 2.

I have a graduate degree in Math Teaching and undergraduate degree in Mathematics with a minor in Education.

My approach is to identify the student's foundation knowledge including the prerequisite knowledge in Algebra 1. Then I will review prior Algebra 2 work from the student. This will lead to an implementation plan to aid the student in reaching his or her goals.

Whether the tutoring session involves systems of equations, logarithms, word problems, inverse functions, trig identities, conic sections, complex number or other Algebra 2 topics, I have the expertise to teach and motivate, and ultimately observe the student achieve success.

My Son Loved Working with Herb

My son was visiting his grandmother in Florida over winter break this year. He had an Algebra 2 assignment that he needed help with, and I knew it was not going to get done. Called last minute to set up an appointment because my son missed some days and needed an entire AP algebra 2 lesson before a test tomorrow. He accommodated our needs and my 16 yo son got the help he needed. He tells me that Herb explains everything so he can easily understand the concepts.
