I’m Lori, a master tutor and classroom teacher for over 10 years. I’m a tea-loving Brit with a passion for English and a knack for making complex subjects easy to grasp! Trained and dual-certified in the UK and Florida, I love working with students and encourage them to produce the best work they can possibly offer! I have worked with students from an array of abilities from general to special education classes; Kindergarteners to adult learners of English; ESOL to Gifted learners.

Along with my teaching, I tutor students outside of my classroom with a focus on State test practice, homework help, readers/writers workshop, creative writing, persuasive and explanatory essay writing, reading comprehension/analysis /evaluation, and grammar. For my younger students at the pre-K through 3 stages of education, I focus on teaching, solidifying, and then refining the foundational reading and writing skills these students need to be successful as more independent learners during their post-3rd-grade education. A student should never become dependent on tutoring. My focus is to encourage students to think for themselves and to become confident in their own, improving skills.

I am passionate about tutoring because I’m passionate about learning--I believe that especially during this new experience of learning online, many students are still struggling to find their footing. Let me help make the process of learning joyful and exhilarating rather than scary and a chore.
