I've been tutoring math for 8 years, and I find it very rewarding. I am patient and enthusiastic, and I have a deep understanding of the material I teach. I always strive to guide students to the answer using student-centered leading questions, rather than just lecturing.
If you know someone struggling with math, I can help make it fun and easy! I teach all levels of algebra, up through Calculus I and II, including geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, SAT prep, ACT prep, and more.

Amy is knowledgeable, patient and really is impactful with her tutoring style. I can see the light bulbs coming on and have yet to be anything but amazed at the progress throughout the hour.
I recommend Amy 10 times over!
Amy was very responsive, professional and my daughter enjoyed their session. My daughter is trying to finish up Alg II online via Florida Virtual and it's been challenging; Amy was definitely able to help!!
My daughter is taking the SAT very early as part of an advanced program. She was very nervous about the test, especially the math sections that she has not been taught yet. Amy was really great with her, understood what needed to be focused on and make her feel very confident. She cant wait for her next lesson!
Amy tutored my daughter in Algebra 2 last year the entire year. Amy was excellent at teaching my daughter the concepts in a manner that my daughter could understand. Amy was never late and responded quickly to emails and texts. She was also super sweet to our daughter. Our daughter enjoyed her tutoring sessions with Amy. We will be calling Amy again if our daughter begins to fall behind in Geometry.
I highly recommend Amy.
Amy is doing a great job. My son is really figuring things out, and Amy lets his mind work. She doesn't solve problems for him.
I found Amy to be the kind of teacher the student could easily rely on to understand the material. She understands the student's weaknesses, and does her best to guide him and lead him to overcome any obstacles he is facing. Amy gives additional exercises and writes down precise explanations and notes as reminders for the student to review when needed. She proved herself to be very capable, confident and punctual. I look forward to work with her more in the future and encourage other students to seek her help and benefit from her skills.
My daughter just met Amy in May when she enrolled at Valencia over the summer for a retake of calculus 1. My daughter has found Amy to be one of the best and reliable tutor ever. Every time my daughter was finished tutoring with Amy, she always came home feeling relieved that she has someone there who is willing to take hours and hours with her just so she can understand everything completely.
I am extremely satisfied with Amy tutoring my daughter, she finished off calculus 1 with an A+.
Amy is the absolute best!!!
I will extensively recommend Amy as a tutor. She is very knowledgeable in math and will explain things in a way anyone can understand. I have a significant math disability and I got an A in college algebra by working with her. I will start Trigonometry this semester and I am sure I will succeed with her help.
Amy is a friendly, compassionate, kind, caring, and patient individual. Amy is also punctual, and gives her 110% effort and attention throughout each full tutoring session. Amy has the gift of taking a very complicated or difficult topic, and allow it to be made easily understood. I would recommend Amy as a tutor with no reservation what so ever. I definitely could not have grasped the knowledge as well as I did, and obtain the high grades without Amy's help. Amy is awesome, and certainly an excellent tutor!
Amy is a great teacher! She loves math and would even be excited about starting a new problem or topic. She is very kind and friendly and always willing to help. She is also very optimistic and can help you with the most troublesome math problems. I definitely recommend her as a tutor.
Amy is a great tutor and teaches in away that students understand. My daughter has learned a great deal and her grades have dramatically improved.
Amy did a wonderful job tutoring my daughter with improving her SAT math score. I am very pleased with the results.
Pleasant and patient, Amy W. is the perfect tutor for SAT/ACT math prep. She will make you feel a lot less nervous about math!
Amy is extremely bright and knows her subjects well. She is a great listener! She heard my concerns and addressed all of them in order, while adding additional information that could further help me. She is also VERY organized and this was great as she kept notes FOR ME- even though I attempted some notes- she left hers for me which are far more helpful. She is professional, courteous, fun, and very smart. I am so glad I found this site and Amy to help me learn more. I felt much more informed by the time our session ended.
Amy is a wonderful tutor. The only problem seems to be that my students do not seem to always have a real need to be taught but to have someone just be there as they attempt their homework. But when they do have issues Amy is very helpful and has given the boys confidence in a hard subject. Thank you, Amy.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Beyond having a passion for the art of photography, I also have a strong understanding of exposure and composition. I can teach photo students how to use their cameras to control aperture, shutter, and ISO settings in manual mode. I've been a photographer for over six years, and I have experience with both film and digital photography.
