My name is Emily, I graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama with a major in Psychology and Pre-Optometry, along with minors in Biology and Liberal Arts. I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Pikeville's Kentucky College of Optometry, with a specialization in pediatrics. Through my liberal arts honors program, I gained extensive experience in writing and textual analysis—completing multiple essays weekly and engaging with complex readings. I use structured outlines, guided reading strategies, and Socratic questioning to help students build strong reading comprehension and writing skills. My approach emphasizes clarity, critical thinking, and confidence in expression.

In mathematics, I’ve tutored students from elementary school through college-level courses. I focus on breaking down complex concepts into step-by-step explanations and using real-life examples to enhance understanding. For younger students, I incorporate visual aids, manipulatives, and interactive problem-solving to keep them engaged and make abstract ideas more accessible.
