Qualifications for “Art”

I was a Fine Arts major in college. That meant that I had to take drawing, painting, sculpture, and photography classes. I also teach at a fine arts college; while I don't teach drawing there due to SACS accreditation rules, I still am able to practice and keep my skills sharp.

Hi-
I love working with people one-on-one. I have an arts background and have been in the high school and college classroom for nearly 10 years. I have been formally trained in SAT (2018), ACT, GED/TASC tutoring. My SAT prep students have generally increased their scores 200-300 points from before working with me to test day.

As an artist and media professional, I am fluent in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and other softwares. I work with students from community colleges through renowned art schools such as Parsons in New York City and professional artists.

I also work with high school and college students who struggle with executive dysfunction. This can lead to academic problems and increased anxiety if one gets behind on coursework.

I am have my Masters Degree in Adolescent Education. I left K-12 teaching and have been teaching on the college level for the last 7+ years. I recently relocated to the Atlanta metro area and am available for sessions locally or online. Due to Covid-19, I am strongly encouraging online lessons.

In addition, we've been doing various 20th century literature projects and connecting them to events in history.

Great Lesson.

Larissa is very knowledgable in her field and has the patience to pass that along to a newbie like me. We were able to do a zoom call and share screens which was cool. Thanks for the help!
