... Being very honest, with all of my experience, I truly recommend that anyone learning a foreign language have at least 1 day per week or 2 days in a week (1 hour or 1.5 hours of lesson each day)...

I coordinated a Language School in São Paulo and I have more than 16 years teaching executives and diplomats in São Paulo and via Skype.

I use the communicative approach that emphasizes the use of Portuguese in real-life situations. Interactive class activities encourage oral communication and self-expression. Grammar and vocabulary are always taught in context, and students are encouraged to use the forms and functions presented in class in meaningful ways.

In order to make the learning of the language easier, I teach grammar by applying it to actual reading texts. On a daily basis, the student also learns through his own experiences, which then become a powerful resource throughout the learning process.

Since my methodology takes into account the student’s actual life interactions, I emphasize communication through conversation exercises, such as open discussions with the teacher and role-plays.

My lessons are especially designed to meet student needs. I have had extensive experience creating courses and programs for speakers of English and for speakers of Spanish, but my classes are for speakers of any language.

Classes can also be taught via Skype. Your very first 1-hour class is on me. After meeting for the first time for a free class on Skype, our following classes will be scheduled at the most convenient time for the both of us.

The materials that we will be using are free. I have a wide range of Portuguese materials (books, videos, audio, exercises) at our total disposal. Everything will be sent to you by e-mail before our classes.

Note: If you prefer, there are some other very good materials you can buy (also on online bookstores) for our classes.

Being very honest, with all of my experience, I truly recommend that anyone learning a foreign language have at least 1 day per week or 2 days in a week (1 hour or 1.5 hours of lesson each day).

One hour goes by too quickly! The more time you spend studying, the better it is, provided that those hours are well spent with a good instructor and good materials: quality over pure quantity.

It is also very IMPORTANT to study on your own, reviewing vocabulary, some grammar and doing exercises to reinforce the content that is being learned.
