Greetings, my name is Eric and I have been tutoring for nearly 2.5+ years. I have a bachelors degree in Physics and I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in engineering at the University of Florida. My primary experience is with students at the collegiate level in domains such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, programming and probability & statistics. The context of this experience varies from small classrooms, 1:1 settings, and even entire laboratories. I formally served as a Supplemental Instruction Leader for a year, which enabled me to create entire roadmaps for individual students to reach their academic goals (review sheets and practice exams).
My specific tutoring style is highly dependent on the student’s personal needs. Usually, it begins with identifying gaps in foundational understanding and clarifying the student’s goals for the course or exam. From there, I emphasize concept-first explanations paired with guided problem solving, helping students learn how to approach unfamiliar questions independently rather than relying on memorization. I regularly incorporate active recall, step-by-step reasoning, and targeted practice problems, adjusting pacing and depth based on the student’s background and confidence level. For more advanced students, I focus on strategy, efficiency, and connecting material across topics.
