Hey guys, I'm Tony and I'm currently a second year at UF, studying computer science. I scored a 1570 on the SAT and a 1470 on the PSAT. Hey guys, I'm Tony and I'm currently a second year at UF, studying computer science. I scored a 1570 on the SAT and a 1470 on the PSAT. I am a college sponsored National Merit Scholarship finalist as well. I attended public school from K-12, including graduating from the IB Program in high school, top 3 in my class. As a result, I've come to find that the public school system is deeply flawed in many ways, especially in that they don't aim to teach students through knowledge and understanding, but rather to prepare them for standardized testing with memorization tricks and test taking strategies. I found that I and many other students would completely forget material we learned earlier in the year, or especially in prerequisite classes from years prior. I want to help students go beyond this superficial style of learning by helping them foster real, genuine understanding of the processes and reasonings that lie beneath what they're learning. You'll easily forget something you once memorized for a class, but you'll never forget something that you legitimately understand and can explain.

I was able to achieve a 1570 on the SAT (770 Reading + Writing / 800 Math) and a 1470 on the PSAT (730 Reading + Writing / 740 Math, 220 NMSC Selection Index Score) because I understood that in order to do well on the SAT and PSAT, you have to understand the test itself. I have experience as a private SAT tutor for high school students from years prior and I'm excited to continue sharing my methods for success.

I believe that the key to learning- in any subject- is real understanding. From personal experience, I know that being encouraged to approach learning this way really benefits all aspects of your life, even outside of school subjects. Most importantly, I would love to share my experience and wisdom that I've gathered going down the exact path that most students partake for their academic careers so that they can get real benefits from their education.

SAT MATH

My son has enjoyed his prep lessons with Tony! One thing about my son is if he feels he's not getting anything out of it he would've made it known. Tony meet every need that I asked him to! He didn't rush the lessons, and sometimes went over the time to ensure my son was getting what he needed out the lessons. I will definitely be recommending Tony to more of the parents at my son's school. Btw, we will be back in 2 weeks to prepare for the October 1st test. The Digital study test he's taken today we won't receive grades for until January.

Understands the process of test taking

Found tony to be knowledgeable in understanding the intricacies of test-taking along with how to analyze and approach test questions. He has obviously dissected the test maker's methodology and is, therefore, able to respectively tutor. I would like to use Tony to work with my daughter during the school year, especially in English Comp and writing classes.
