I attended the University of West Florida receiving a Master Science Mathematics in 2011 and a Bachelor Arts Mathematics in 1991, and a Minor in Computer Science. I received my National Board Teacher Certification in 2009 for Math-Adolescence/Young Adulthood. I have held a Professional Teacher Certificate from July 1, 2000 to June 30, 2025. I was a Mathematics Assistant Professor from August 2016 to May 2020 at Northwest Florida State College, Mathematics Teacher from August 1998 to May 2021 in Okaloosa County School System retiring at Fort Walton Beach High School and Niceville High School. I have taught Advanced Placement Calculus and Statistics, Honors and Regular Geometry & Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus. My AP Exam passing rate exceeded the national average from 1999 to 2011 and 2013 to 2017.
My experience prior to teaching was a position of Scientific Programmer from February 1992 to September 1997 at Vitro now under the name of BAE Systems, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. I updated software on subsystems installed in instrumentation radars, developed firmware for microcontrollers in tracking radar systems, and provided on-site support during software acceptance test procedures at test ranges.
OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS would include awards at the University of West Florida earning a Department Scholarship by achieving a 3.58 GPA and graduated Cum Laude. Graduate GPA 3.91. While teaching I was awarded Cox Communications Teacher of the Quarter. This was a student nomination and it was based on teaching commitment. While in college was membership in Pi Mu Epsilon, the Math Honor Society, as a result of high marks in upper-level math classes.
