Hello, my name is Brooke! I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences. I have since then moved on to medical school at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (Bradenton, Florida) where I am furthering my education. I have always had a passion for math and science since a young age and I am grateful to be able to learn so much in medical school. I have been in the classroom for a long time of my life and I realized that over the years, I prefer teachers who make things straightforward and use visuals in order to teach. This is the same approach I like to bring when I am tutoring because I think it makes learning a more enjoyable experience. I am very organized and I use lesson plans where I introduce the overarching topics and then I break them down into little pieces and go from there. I always make sure the students have time to try some practice material on their own and ask questions if they run into problems.
I have past volunteer tutoring experience where I taught a group of 8-10 students in the classroom for 2 years at the University of Florida. I taught a course on Emergency Medicine where I taught using the whiteboard and also taught practical skills. For the students that needed extra help, I would stay behind afterward to answer their questions.
I want my students to succeed in whatever their goals are and I welcome any resources or suggestions they have. I value their opinions and if something isn’t working for them, I can change the way I teach based on the student’s individual needs. I am very easy to reach and provide fast responses.
