Experienced Multi-Subject Tutor (Elementary through College Level)

Hello everyone, Samir here- welcome to my profile! I am excited to help guide any and all students through their educational journey. I've recently just graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Economics and have decided to dedicate some time to helping others move forward in their quest for knowledge. Tutoring is something I've always had an interest in, even at a young age. When I was in high school, I actually operated my own tutoring service from around sophomore year up until graduation, primarily focused on middle school students. The subjects ranged from English to Mathematics; however, I was always willing to help out with whatever I could regardless of my own particular preference. Despite having my own schoolwork to deal with, I always made sure to have a lesson plan prepared for my students and would devote my entire attention to them and their work during our sessions.

For instance, students would often bring in the day's assignments and ask me to assist them with it. Rather than simply do their homework for them, which I'm sure they would have preferred, I would instead walk them through the thought process that would go into solving each particular problem. Offering relatable analogies and drawing comparisons to real-world examples seemed to help clarify a lot of things for students, and was something that both they and I would enjoy. Students seemed to grow to prefer putting the pieces together for themselves as the sessions went on, requiring less and less overt "teaching" which I substituted with subtle guidance and encouragement.

Nothing is more important to me than ensuring that these young scholars have the skills they need to excel in both their academic and professional careers. I know what it is like to be so confused about something that you just feel like giving up, and that's exactly what I'm here for- to offer some guidance and make learning a bit less frustrating and a lot more rewarding. I hope to play an active and significant role in my students' educational development
