I've been passionate about math since childhood; it's the subject that has always come naturally to me. I began tutoring in math in 7th grade when I noticed classmates struggling with algebra concepts. My love for math was further fueled by competing in state and national math competitions during middle and high school. My high school consistently ranked in the top 10 nationally in these competitions.
With over 30 years of tutoring experience, I understand that every student has unique learning styles and challenges. I specialize in tailoring my approach to meet the individual needs of each student. My methods focus on teaching students how to think through math problems logically and comprehensively, emphasizing problem-solving and reasoning over memorization. I also guide students to explore multiple ways to solve problems, helping reinforce their understanding.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with a wide range of students: young learners as young as four years old; elementary, middle, and high school students; high schoolers preparing for exams such as the SAT; and college and university students, including post-graduate candidates brushing up for the GRE.
My teaching experience spans both one-on-one tutoring and group settings, including after-school classroom-sized sessions. Whether helping a young learner grasp foundational concepts or assisting advanced students with complex topics, I'm committed to fostering both confidence and competence in math.
