Knowledgeable and patient chemistry tutor

Cherylyn has is an outstanding Chemistry tutor! She is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, organized, dynamic, and extremely patient. My daughter was overwhelmed and frustrated with chemistry and didn’t think she could do well. From the very first session with Cherylyn my daughter instantly felt at ease and began to feel more confident with the math and how to apply it to the content being taught. Cherylyn approaches the subject matter with enthusiasm and makes sure my daughter can relate to it by providing real life example that she can relate to. We are thrilled to have found Cherylyn.

Our tutor reviewed 2 chapters of Organic I Chemistry & addressed my questions, and worked hard for the 2 hrs. I had her for yesterday & felt that this was very much help.

Cherylyn was a decent tutor - for very basic questions only

She answered some basic questions, but she talked over me and did not understand some of my questions. She was not intuitively able to navigate the content I was showing her. If you're interested in ONLY very basic college chemistry, Cherylyn is a good option. If you're interested in physical chemistry or anything advanced, I would not recommend Cherylyn.

This student, in the job posting, misrepresented her expectation for a general chemistry tutoring session. She was quite immature and did not listen to the information I provided, She erratically scrolled through an unidentified book and asked for in-depth discussion of random figures without allowing time to scan the caption/text to gather the purpose of the figure. She refused to accept that her questions were far, far from the scope of a general chemistry course and that some of her questions were nonsensical. I suggested she collect her thoughts to clearly express her intent and expectation and contact a professor, assistant, or student doing physical chemistry research or particle physics to discuss contemporary theories. Her general chemistry professor had previously advised the same.

Cherylyn is a keeper

Cherylyn has been wonderfully helpful and patient tutoring me in organic chemistry. Her guidance is honest. She will not let you understand something improperly for the sake of getting a multiple choice question correct. Instead, I feel my knowledge of foundational organic chemistry is being strengthened where I need it most. Thanks, Cherylyn.

Helpful in simplifying and explaining difficult concepts

I'm taking college level Gen Chem 2 and was in desperate need of help as I prepared for my first exam. Cherylyn was extremely helpful in breaking down a problem to help me understand it as well as clarifying confusion I had regarding concepts. Most of what we discussed involved kinetics.
