Hello everyone,

My name is Adam and I am passionate about teaching a variety of subjects to all kinds of learners. Over the past 9 years, I've helped hundreds of students achieve their academic goals. In 2015, I graduated from the University of Connecticut with an English degree. With my experience, I am confident I'll be able to help you reach outstanding academic success.
Throughout my life, I've enjoyed helping people with subjects such as Math, Writing, SATs, Test-Taking, Elementary Ed., Theatre, and many more. I have ample tutoring experience in all of these subjects. I'm happy to meet you and help you succeed in whatever way you wish to. As your tutor, I will make it my priority to help you achieve your goals.
I think it's important for me, as your tutor, to realize the ways in which you learn best. Everyone learns differently, so no student can be taught in the same way. That is the benefit of one-on-one instruction rather than classroom learning; we can really focus on your needs as a student. I will also do my best to inspire your interest in the subject, because I know that greater student interest inspires greater learning.

I'm excited about helping you learn your subject of choice. Let's make it happen!

Theater

I have been performing in and producing theatrical shows since the age of six. In high school, I had the opportunity to run my town's non-profit theatre troupe as director/producer. I led casts and crews of 40+ for two summer musicals. Because of my experience in acting, directing, producing, and writing, I am capable to teach theatre arts on a variety of levels. Plus, it is a passion of mine.

Teaching How to Learn

In the 4 months that Adam has tutored my 7th grade son, we have seen a transformation from a student having difficulties with reading comprehension and test taking to an honor student confident in his abilities and ready to take the next steps as a student. Adam’s mentoring has helped him across ALL SUBJECTS. Adam is teaching my son how to learn - learning how to read and study, and approaching his work with renewed enthusiasm. Convincing a 12 year-old boy/tween that a tutor is the right way to go was challenging. I think the fact that Adam is young made him much more relatable to my son. Meeting with Adam is now just part of his weekly routine that he accepts and prepares for. When looking for a tutor, we wanted someone not only with subject matter expertise, but someone with the temperament and knowledge to help our son become a well-rounded learner. Adam is the perfect match. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Thank you Adam, we've seen the result!

Adam started tutoring my 8th grade son 1.5 months ago. We started from English, then switched to SSAT preparation from last week. Adam is knowledgeable, flexible and very efficient. He knows how to work with his student. My 13 years old teen doesn't like all his classes at school but he likes his tutoring time with Adam. After several lessons, we've seen improvement of my son's work. We really appreciate it, THANK YOU, Adam T.!

One of the best in the business!

When we were looking to find help in math for our son with a tutor we did not know where to start. We Googled math tutors in our area and after reviewing the backgrounds and profiles of many we decided to go with Adam. That was one of the best investments we've made in our son's education and wished we would have found him a year or two sooner! Adam was able to quickly connect with our son and assess his strengths and areas that needed more support. He was able to also understand my son's learning language and used it to craft his teaching strategy so that our son would understand the material. In education (especially math) schools and many educators are of the antiquated mindset that if you don't understand a subject that they're teaching then the problem is you. Seldom does the educator reflect upon the possibility that maybe the problem lies within them, their style of teaching, their approach, or their mindset. Adam was able to help our son not only understand Algebra II with Trig and prepare for the SAT's but was also able to go back to basics from previous subjects such as Geometry and Algebra I which are prerequisites for Algebra II. We have Statistics next year and we look forward to working with Adam again and seeing our son build confidence in a subject he loves and succeed academically.
