I am a highly motivated and experienced educator with a decade of classroom teaching experience, primarily at the 5th-grade level, but 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades as well. I hold a Bachelor of Education from Northeastern University at Mills and a Master of Education from Metropolitan University. My educational journey extends beyond the classroom, encompassing roles such as a preschool teacher, tutor of all ages, grade level chair, GT coordinator and as a Sunday School director. This has providing me with a deep understanding of child development across various age groups and demographics. As a parent of three children, now adults, I carry valuable insights into the unique styles and needs of learners of all ages. I am currently licensed as a CLDE-certified elementary professional educator, qualified to teach all subjects from kindergarten to sixth grade. In addition, I have a math endorsement for teaching kindergarten through ninth-grade mathematics in schools. My diverse background and commitment to fostering a love of learning in my students make me a valuable asset and able to help no matter where you are in your educational journey.

I can offer individualized tutoring to support or excel a students early learning, assistance during school transitions (such as moving from 5th to 6th grade, 8th to 9th, or high school to post-secondary choices), executive functioning coaching, academic and college guidance, career readiness support, and school test preparation for assessments like the GED, SAT, ACT, Praxis, PAX, TEAS and more.

Our specific tasks may include creating personalized learning plans, conducting regular assessments to track your progress, providing targeted instruction, facilitating collaborative study groups, and offering support with assignments and standardized test preparation.

My primary focus is growth. My aim is to ensure confidence growth, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving abilities necessary to thrive and excel in all academic and personal pursuits.

Elementary (K-6th)

Since completing my Master's degree in Elementary Education, I've maintained a strong focus on mathematics, recognizing its fundamental importance in student development. To further enhance my ability to provide effective math instruction, I recently expanded my professional qualifications by earning a 6th through 9th grade mathematics endorsement. This expansion of my licensure has equipped me with a more comprehensive understanding of mathematical concepts and pedagogical strategies, allowing me to better serve students across a broader range of grade levels.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I have previously tutored multiple students in essay writing. I have assisted in several areas including college application essay writing as well as AP literature and AP seminar essay editing. More recently, I have been helping students to learn how to use AI search engines as jumping off points and as tools to enhance their background knowledge, rather than as robots to write for them. I can spend time showing them why we are starting to recognize the flaws in the cadences of AI writing and how students can make sure that they are using they own intelligence and style to avoid these traps. Then I guide them in writing and editing their own fantastic essays.
