Hi! I'm Danny, a bioinformatics scientist originally from Colorado where I discovered a love of medical science when working in a lab studying the effects of Uranium mining. That passion took me to Cleveland for a bachelors in Biochemistry, and then I moved back to Denver to work at a vaccine start-up. I gravitated toward Bioinformatics, eventually going back to school for a Masters through Johns Hopkins University. I have roughly a decade of industry experience, about six of which is specific to bioinformatics including DNA- and RNA-sequencing, 3d protein modeling, and development of AI and Machine-Learning based models for clinical diagnostics.
In a previous position, I mentored students through their Masters capstone projects at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. I truly enjoyed seeing these students take on their own projects and learn more about where they wanted to take their knowledge when starting their career. Please let me know if I can help you discover or solve anything about the worlds of bioinformatics, computational biology, and genetics!
