I am an effective tutor that will customize your child's curriculum and make it relate to their world. I have been tutoring for 14 years and have tutored students from Preschool to 8th grade. I have experience delivering one-one one tutoring, in Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts, which includes, Vocabulary Development, Spelling, Phonics, and Reading. In addition to specific subject tutoring I have prepared numerous students of all ages for various State Standardized Tests, and have successfully helped them achieve their desired goals.

I have received my Multiple Subject Credentials and Masters in Teaching from USC. I have specific classroom experience teaching all subjects in 3rd and 5th grade, which I obtained while student teaching. I further continued my classroom experience In my first year of teaching, where I taught both 4th and 5th grade in Math, Science, and Social Studies. I am well versed in the needs of each student, I was the lead teacher in my schools homework club, and was able to see how students benefit from individualized instruction in addition to their classroom learning.

While I enjoyed teaching in the classroom, I greatly value the benefits of one-on-one teaching and have felt that I am able to give my students the attention they need while tutoring. I understand and know that each student has their own unique learning style, and with tutoring, I am able to develop an individualized plan to cater to their learning needs. As a tutor I use various methods of instruction, I believe direct instruction is just one way of delivering information, and is to often used as the only way of instruction in the classroom. As a teacher I implemented various ways of instruction focusing on facilitating learning through exploration and activities.

As a tutor I am able to do the same by finding the best way to deliver information to each student, so that they can comprehend the information to the best of their ability. I strive to make each student attuned to their learning styles and help them process information in efficient ways. I use various methods of instruction and often include activity based learning processes.
