Hello, Everyone!

My name is Jaime A. C. V., UCLA graduate, with more than a decade of experience working as an educator. My passion is to help others reach their potential. I believe that teaching and learning is equal parts fun, interest, and discovery. One thing I find I'm particularly good at is helping students understand those why questions that pop up when learning a topic, such as: Why do I have to learn this? When will I ever need this in the future? Helping students of all ages understand the answers to these questions means better goals in learning and in life.

I've worked with students of all ages on topics from Language, Literature and Writing, Mathematics and Science (basic to advanced), Social Science and History, with specialties in the medical, international development, and engineering fields. I can help you with your ABCs, ACTs, SATs, dimensions x, y, and z... But it's not just about knowing a lot, it's also about making these topics engaging and humorous.

Every student is different, and each will require a unique approach. And with each approach, each student can achieve great things in proportion to their ability. This is where I come in, to help my students reach their potential in all sorts of meaningful ways and subject matter. And we just might have some fun together while we're at it.

Bonjour! As a French Minor at UCLA, I also possess a French teaching authorization in my California Teaching Credential for all grade levels.

An English Major at UCLA, I possess a multiple-subject teaching credential made possible in part by my experience as an ESL/ELD/TOEFL teacher trainer during my service as a Peace Corps volunteer. One of my first tutoring positions was as an SAT/ACT/IB tutor, and have prepared nearly 100 high-school level students in SAT/ACT/IB competencies who have gone on to receive excellent scores and get into great universities.
