I had no guidance on making it to college. It was my AVID Teachers that showed me the way. They gave me confidence because they never gave up on me. I found Financial Aid to attend college, and even used Grants to study abroad! I was an exchange student in Chile from 2011 to 2012! I've worked bilingual jobs ever since.
Not only are schoolteachers great instructors and editors of reading and writing, bilingual people are proven to create a stronger understanding of their Native language (for me,English) by learning another.
