Hello! I’m Ashley. I was born and raised in California but went to college in Alabama because I received a full scholarship for my undergraduate degree at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. I worked as a math tutor during my undergraduate years and received my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from UAH in 2019. I began working on a master's in mathematics at UAH and I was a graduate teaching assistant for about 2 years. I gained experience teaching precalculus and algebra to undergraduate students, and I also tutored all levels of undergraduate math classes. I taught precalculus for two semesters and algebra for one semester and enjoyed it very much. I ended up moving back home to California, and now attend Cal Poly Pomona, where I obtained my teaching credential to be a high school math teacher, and am now working on a Master of Education. Since I moved back to California, I have been working as a substitute teacher at high schools and a tutor for students from elementary through high school age.
I believe everyone has the potential to excel in math and even enjoy it. Sometimes students have a few bad years in math, and it can feel very difficult to catch back up, but that’s what I’m here for! I can help you rebuild the foundational skills you need for your class as well as help you master the new content. I appreciate any notes or course content students are able to share with me so that I can better personalize our sessions. I look forward to working with you!
