I hold a B.A. in English (summa cum laude), an M.A. in Communication (with distinction), and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. My academic training has given me advanced expertise in reading comprehension, writing, critical thinking, public speaking, and analytical reasoning.
I have over a decade of teaching and coaching experience in both 4 year college and community college settings, having served as an Adjunct Professor at Fresno City College, Lead Graduate Teaching Associate at California State University, Fresno, and Assistant Director of Debate. I have taught courses in public speaking, debate, communication, and writing to diverse student populations, ranging from middle school to adult learners. My teaching has included traditional classroom instruction, one-on-one academic coaching, and small group workshops.
My tutoring approach combines clear, structured instruction with individualized support. I assess each student’s needs, identify their strengths, and break down complex topics into manageable steps. I emphasize active learning—through guided practice, feedback, and real-world application—so students not only understand the material but can apply it confidently. Over the years, I have worked successfully with students from varied educational backgrounds, including English language learners, students preparing for standardized exams, and those developing professional communication skills.
