Hi, I’m Gabriel! I’m a Vassar College graduate with a degree in History. I earned a 3.7 GPA and received Honors for my thesis.
In high school, I saw firsthand how a one-on-one tutor was able to drastically help improve my essay writing skills and standardized test scores. As an instructor myself, and father of a middle schooler, I pride myself on creating a fun, supportive environment where students can build confidence, improve their writing, develop critical thinking skills, and see results in their SATs and ACTs.
A little about my background: After a highly academic high school career, I served as president of Vassar Improv and founder of the sketch comedy group, The Limit. This led to a 20+ year career as an actor, writer, and recently a teacher.
As an actor, I have worked extensively in film, television, and commercials, with recurring roles on notable series such as Silicon Valley (HBO), Beef (Netflix), Supernatural (CW), and Good Trouble (Hulu).
My writing career spans theater, television and film, as well as publishing. I worked as a writing consultant at Gorilla Flicks and as an editor/copywriter for Oscar Nunez on his book, Well-Deserved Pain: Short Stories to be Read with Your Eyes. Other projects include the film Skills Like This (Winner: Audience Award at SXSW Film Festival) and the series Fish in a Sweater (Optioned by Steve Carell’s Carousel Productions).
Over the last five years, I’ve discovered a true passion for teaching. I’ve run script analysis and scene study classes for learners of all ages (both online and in person).
Now, I’m excited to channel my enthusiasm for teaching into academic tutoring, focusing on (but not limited to) Writing, History, English, and Standardized test Prep—helping students reach their full potential with fun, personalized, and engaging instruction.
Feel free to contact me to discuss your individual needs, goals, and possible lesson plans. I look forward to working together!
