I hold a B.A. in English and American Studies from Stanford University (GPA 3.93) and am currently completing an M.F.A. in Film Production at USC's School of Cinematic Arts. At Stanford I received funded grants for independent creative projects and interned at NBCUniversal as the university's sole Campus Marketing Representative.
For the past five years I have worked as a college admissions consultant and English tutor, teaching AP English, SAT prep, and providing college counseling to high school students. I also do similar work through Next Admit and private clients. My students have gained acceptance to schools including Harvard, MIT, and Vanderbilt.
My SAT teaching method is process-based rather than test-heavy. I work with each student to identify why they are getting specific concepts wrong and build a personalized study plan around closing those gaps before moving on. For AP English and essay writing, I focus on critical thinking and argumentation, helping students develop and defend original positions rather than summarizing or reciting.
I work primarily one-on-one with high school students, though I have experience in small group settings as well. Sessions are conducted both in person and online. I have been tutoring and teaching in this capacity for five years across multiple organizations and private clients.
