I have an undergraduate degree from CSU Fullerton in Mathematics and Statistics with a Finance Cognate. I helped run the Math tutoring lab for almost 5 years, and have been tutoring for longer than that, having worked for 3 different companies before I started my own business. Having tutored many students in mathematics, I have covered subjects including Algebra and Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics. Bringing a positive attitude and fun to learning the subject of math my goal is to empower my students. There is a difference between understanding math, and being able to teach it effectively. I teach.

He helped me pass an entrance exam for a private school. He emails notes after the session and is very thorough, kind and helpful. Would definitely hire again when needed. Thanks, Steven!
Better than my professor & my discussion TA. Made a tough subject seem like basic arithmetic. We went over probability (not stats) which is a very difficult subject to begin with. All the ideas were made clear, and left there with valuable knowledge for solving problems. Would highly recommend Steven!
Steve is an enthusiastic, patient, and knowledgeable tutor. My son really likes his teaching style as well as his personality.
Very comfortable to be around and trustworthy. Steve bends over backwards to accommodate our busy schedule and he is very flexible with his hours. He is always easy to reach by cell phone.
We have Steve as our tutor for Physics, but I am sure he is astute in all mathematical subjects.
I would highly recommend Steve for a tutor.
I am a nurse and statistics looked like a foreign language just two weeks ago. Thanks to Steven I finally see some light. Thanks Steven!
Steven is a wonderful tutor/math teacher! My 10 year old daughter loved him, and she can't wait for her next session. He's very friendly & really knows his stuff! Steven is very knowledgeable, and his explanations are extremely thorough & easy to follow. Me and my daughter were looking for a tutor to advance her math skills & teach her new techniques....Steven did just that! My daughter left the session knowing new tricks & skills, he gave her a huge boost of self confidence. He understands her academic goals and is enthusiastic about helping her achieve them. I couldn't have asked for more!
Steve was very thorough and paid great attention to detail in his explanations. I would recommend him to anyone who needs to approach learning mathematics from a step-by-step approach.
Steve is a great tutor who has a special gift to impart knowledge. He does so with confidence and helps the student feel confident also. I would recommend him to anyone I know who needs assistance in his chosen field of expertise.
I can't thank Steven enough. My son received an A on his Calculus test, first ever. The most important factor is that he now has confidence in all his subjects!
I am taking an on line stats course through UCI. Steven is patient and very thorough in communicating concepts. I highly recommend him for instruction. He is an excellent tutor.
Very smart and knowledge about the subject of Statistic and Calculus. He was on time, and my son is very happy about the tutoring.
Very knowledgeable in the subject of math in general and cheerful tutor, makes the learning experience pleasant, easy and rewarding. I highly recommend Steve.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I got a scholarship out of taking the ACT exam. I can help your student excel in the ACT as well as the SAT exam, and learn strategies to improve scores.
I will be happy to help your student succeed!

I have tutored Algebra 1 to middle school, high school, and college level students. I have learned areas where people get stuck or confused. I will use my experience in this area to teach strategies that will help you succeed in this subject and prepare you for future areas of math.
From polynomials, to functions to graphs. I will help make the subject of Algebra make sense and even make it a little fun! I have helped many students improve their study skills and test scores in this subject. I can help explain the topic in a way that makes sense, and I can help if earlier algebra skills are lacking.
Calculus is a vast subject that begins by building on top of algebra and trigonometry by introducing concepts such as limits and infinite series. It then introduces derivatives and later integration. After those concepts are mastered partial differentiation, multivariate integration, differential equations and differential operators are added. Calculus requires strong math skills in foundational math up through the level of trigonometry, and any holes or weaknesses in those areas need to be addressed.
I have tutored students in the area of Discrete Mathematics for over five years. It is one of the core parts of the undergraduate mathematics curriculum at my university. I can help with simple tricks to build up arithmetic skills, explain how sets and numbers work, from fractions to exponents. I will help make this subject both rewarding and fun.
I love Geography, from maps, and countries to understanding the way the Earth works. If you need help in this area get in touch with me.
Geometry is a really fun area of math, with lots of visual puzzles. I can help with geometric proofs, as well as explaining how circles, triangles, and various other shapes work together in 2 dimensions and 3 dimensions.
No matter what you are struggling with in Geometry, I will make it easier to understand.
I took the GRE during my final year of my undergraduate and scored above the 90 percentile across all test sections. I can help improve your score in for both the math, the English and even the essay portion of the exam.
Mastering proofs and analysis along with the formal logic behind mathematics has been a core part of my training in mathematics. I have tutored many students in the area of Math logic, and can help you or your child in this subject. I can help make understanding math logic easier by explaining how to set up proofs, what strategies to use when doing proofs, and what to look for and what to avoid.
I have used Macs for over 20 years. Currently, I run Lion on a desktop Mac, and have a laptop, too. I have used it for graphic design apps, writing reports, presentations, and writing math papers.
Pre algebra prepares students for the most fun, and challenging and applied areas of mathematics: Algebra. From fractions and ratios, to integers, decimals, factorization, negative numbers, natural numbers. All that good stuff that makes mathematics work!
This subject helps build a foundation in algebra and trigonometry to prepare you for calculus, which uses these concepts and expects a certain level of competence in them. Students need a strong understanding of algebra to succeed when they study calculus.
I will help you understand probability, and do well in your course.
Probability can be a confusing subject without a good teacher or tutor, and many students struggle with it, but I have learned many ways to help make this subject easier to follow.
I did very well on my SAT in both math and verbal when I took the exam. Since then, I have learned math on a deeper level and have tutored it to many people.
If you want to improve your math scores on the SAT, you will not find a tutor who can help you improve your scores more than I can.
My primary area of study is Statistics and Probability, and I can help students who are struggling in this area understand the basic concepts as well has how to apply Statistics to real world situations.
