I have just returned from several years of travel and work at military health facilities to resume tutoring.
In college I have tutored for undergraduate courses and have been a teaching assistant in introductory biology, chemistry, and organic chemistry courses. In addition I am a Red Cross and AHA Certified Instructor in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Wilderness First Aid.
I completed graduate level work at the University of Pennsylvania while teaching high school chemistry (honors and AP) as a Teach for America alumnus in Camden, NJ. I taught students grades 8-12 for 4 years before pursuing doctoral studies. During that time I have become very familiar with the "Common Core" and "Next-Generation Science" standards, as well as NJ/PA State Testing; I can easily cross cover to other standardized secondary school exams. Since around that time (2012) I have also been teaching MCAT, DAT, OAT, and PCAT courses for major test prep companies where all of my students have scored 506+ (most 512+).
During my undergraduate years I graduated with honors in Biochemistry with a minor in Rhetoric and Astronomy at the University of Maryland, College Park and am a recognized member of the American Chemical Society (Department of Chemical Education). My strengths are in biochemistry, but I have produced, and was awarded, an honors citation thesis in the fields of Solid State Chemistry and Condensed Matter Physics (superconductors and the like).
On a personal note, I'm friendly, down to earth, and have mostly evening and weekend flexibility in my weekly schedule. In my spare time I have I've written novels, produced films, and continue to pursue new art ventures in my spare time. And I often enjoy musical theater, running, and traveling. So it's safe to
