I'm an American Sign Language Interpreter who enjoys teaching ASL. As of 2022, I've been interpreting now for 12yrs. I've done educational, social work, and medical interpreting. Besides at work, I use ASL with my Deaf friends and the Deaf community. So, ASL is always in my life every day, and I love it!

Besides at work, I use ASL with my Deaf friends and the Deaf community. So, ASL is always in my life every day, and I love it!

I went through an ASL/English Interpreter training program at Mt. Sac. My training and continual contact with the Deaf community keeps me up to date with the language; I'm knowledgeable in the use of ASL grammar and Deaf culture.

I have an AS degree in medical science/transcription, which all the medical courses have helped in my career as a medical ASL interpreter and an ASL interpreting certificate from Mt. San Antonio College, Ca. I also have BA in Fine Art from Cal Poly, Ca. Yes, I'm also an artist and love drawing and painting too!

ASL lessons are customized to each individual, be it their first time or for those who already have a basic knowledge of ASL. I am patient and prefer students fully understand before moving forward into teaching something new. Age, interests, needs and goals are important to determine where we should start. When tutoring students taking an ASL class, I will help them according to their class and focus on what it is they need help on. Also, if a student just needs someone to practice signing with to become more proficient, I can help with that and provide feedback.

I encourage advance learners of ASL or even advanced/Intermediates to seek out help from a Deaf tutor/teacher because it is very important to learn ASL from a native ASL user; your receptive and expressive skills will improve exponentially!

So, let's make this a fun journey! I look forward to meeting you and helping you in your success to fluency in ASL as I plan to teach you everything I know! ;-)

I tutor anyone interested in learning American Sign Language, be it for fun or for college students taking ASL - It could be weak areas needing to improve upon or just need someone to practice their signing skills with. My education and experience will allow me to not only teach someone to learn sign language vocabulary, but will understand deaf culture. It's important when learning a language that you understand the culture of that language as well. I've completed an Interpreter Preparation program for American Sign Language at Mt. San Antonio College and have been a Sign Language Interpreter for 6 years now using ASL on an everyday basis. My involvement with the deaf community and continued education keeps me proficient and well versed in the signing styles and modalities used in ASL. I plan to provide you with all that I know, to help you succeed in becoming fluent.

Knowledgeable, organized & goes above and beyond.

Rosanne helped my 17 year old daughter with her High School ASL class. Rosanne was extremely knowledgeable and very organized. You could tell she wanted to help my daughter in any way that she could, and went above and beyond by sending her extra resources etc. after the session. I was incredibly impressed with Rosanne and will contact her every time my daughter needs help with ASL.

ASL Class Support

Rosanne has been helping me on a regular basis as I have been navigating a very challenging ASL course in my final semester of school. She has been extremely helpful in assisting me with navigating all elements of the course, and I feel that with Rosanne's assistance I will be able to confidently feel as if I have a strong foundation in ASL. She offers great 1:1 support via video, but is also willing to provide feedback on recordings I must complete to ensure I am developing my sign production and grammar effectively. Overall, Rosanne has been crucial to my success and development throughout my ASL course this semester and her flexible scheduling and responsiveness is so helpful. I highly recommend Rosanne for all ASL needs beginner and more!
