Hi there! My name is Maranda, and I’m a dedicated educator with a strong background in English, history, and academic support for students of all ages. I hold a B.A. in History and Liberal Studies from the University of Redlands and have consistently worked in tutoring, mentoring, and administrative roles that center student growth and success along with working on the completion of my Masters in education with a multiple subject credential.
My experience spans across academic advising, peer support, writing tutoring, and lesson development. I’ve worked as a Writing Center tutor, guiding college students through the writing process from brainstorming and outlining to polishing final drafts. I’ve also supported younger students in early reading and comprehension, as well as provided specialized help with essay structure, grammar, and revision strategies. My approach is patient, encouraging, and tailored to the needs of each learner. I don’t just help students get the right answers, I help them understand how and why they got there.
In addition to tutoring, I’ve worked as an admissions assistant and front office coordinator at my university, where I developed excellent organizational and communication skills. I understand how to balance professional responsibilities while creating a welcoming and productive environment for students and families.
I’ve tutored students ranging from elementary to college-level and am confident working with learners from different academic backgrounds and learning styles. Whether it’s one-on-one tutoring or working in small groups, I prioritize building strong rapport, setting achievable goals, and encouraging critical thinking.
I’d love the opportunity to help your student feel more confident, capable, and excited about learning!
