Life Long Music Student with 19+ Years of Classical Piano Training

Hello, students of Music and Life! My name is Howard and I am 24 years old and will be attending University of Southern California Thornton School of Music for my Masters in Piano and Music Industry this following semester. I have been practicing Classical piano since the young age of 5 and I am very excited to help anyone of ANY AGE learn the basics of the piano. I also play the violin. Music has been with me throughout my life and I am extremely passionate about it whether it is Classical to Hip Hop. Through my years of studying the piano, I have learned many concepts and strategies that I myself have developed through time. I love teaching students because I have a lot of patience and passion for Music. I have won numerous piano competitions as a young boy and have played hundreds of recitals myself. I have gone through all levels of CM (1-10, and Panel) and Royale for the violin.

Studying with Dr. Lorna Griffit at UCI, I have gained a lot of insight into the nuances of the piano and how to play the piano in a way that will make the audience feel the music. I also have gone through the necessary piano training to learn the technicalities of scales and such throughout my life so it comes as second nature.

I have studied the Classical piano since I was 5 years old with numerous different teachers. Won multiple competitions such as 1st Place at SYMF, 2nd Place at Liszt International Piano Competition, 1st Place at Cypress Music Festival Piano Competition, 1st Place at Glendale Piano Competition, and performed at Carnegie Hall at a young age. Was invited to perform in Italy at Orfeo Music Festival last year.
