Hello! My name is Katherine and I specialize in middle and high school-level mathematics up through AP Calculus AB/BC and SAT math. I look forward to helping you achieve your educational goals and building your foundation for mathematical success.

Hello! My name is Katherine and I specialize in middle and high school-level mathematics up through AP Calculus AB/BC and SAT math. I look forward to helping you achieve your educational goals and building your foundation for mathematical success.

In the past two years, I have been volunteering as a middle/high-school math tutor at Professional Tutors of America, giving me experience in working with students of all skill levels and educational backgrounds. During tutoring sessions, I guide students through their homework, clarify any misconceptions, and provide supplemental examples to solidify their understanding of the materials. Prior to that, I tutored my two daughters and their peers up through AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC, leading to them achieving 5’s and 4’s on their AP exams. I also tutored them in SAT math, raising their scores by 150 points until they consistently scored 750+ in the math section. It has been rewarding seeing my students rediscover their confidence and love for math.

My students’ success lies in: my emphasis on building a strong foundation before diving into deeper topics, my hands-on approach to ensure comprehensive understanding, and my patient and encouraging demeanor.

I hold a B.S. in Computer Science and Statistics from the University of New South Wales, Australia, and have 15+ years of working experience as a software engineer at various companies, including American Express, Citi Bank, and TVB Corporation.

My son (teen) likes Katherine's teaching on AP Calculus AB. She spent her time to find out my son's concept issues first before tutoring. She is very responsible and knowledgeable. My son has decided to take more tutoring from Katherine.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Katherine is helping my teenager with concepts and troubles which he is dealing with at Calc BC. She went through each question very thoroughly and provided good tips on what to remember as well as on how to solve problems and questioned why an answer was correct as well as why an answer was wrong. I think it is important to have the students to validity their answer to ensure understanding of material. I recommend her to any students who need help on math.

Katherine tutors my daughter in Calculus AB. As the semester progressed, my daughter struggled to understand the more advanced Calculus concepts. I saw her grades slowly fall from As to low Bs. Katherine quickly got her back on track and after only a couple of sessions she got perfect scores (100%) on both her quiz and test. Katherine is very knowledgeable. Katherine helped my daughter with calc ab for almost an entire her jr career. She’s very knowledgeable and explains very thoroughly.
