Hi,
I am an experienced educator who has been working in the field for over eighteen years. I began my career working at a tutoring clinic. There I provided one to one tutoring for: K-1; English Language Learners, and upper elementary and middle school students in Language Arts. I have also worked as an instructional assistant, providing English Language Development pull out and push in support. Additionally, I have worked as a teacher for students with disabilities for several years.
There are many reasons why I love to teach and tutor. Helping students gain confidence in their academics is very rewarding. As is seeing a student’s smile when something clicks. Helping to instill a love of reading in students is also a joy to me. Education has helped me go far and I would love to help others build strong educational foundations so they can reach their goals too!

As an English major, I have had in depth courses in Writing, Grammar, and Literature. I have also passed a variety of exams, such as the RICA, CBEST, and CSET multiple subject, needed for a teaching credential. My Masters in Education specialized in cross cultural teaching, which combined with my work and volunteer experience, has helped prepare me to work with ESL students.

I’m happy to be contacted with questions in regards to your tutoring needs and am looking forward to scheduling lessons to help you reach your goals.

Encouraging, engaging and fun lessons!

Ms. Emily continues to encourage and enhance our daughters early learning pre-K skills! In the weeks she has spent tutoring out daughter we have seen so much progress when it comes to learning to write her name, identify numbers, letters and early math and reading skills. On top of it all Ms. Emily makes it fun and truly makes learning very fun and easy! Highly recommend!

Accommodating and Prepared

Emily is a new tutor for my twins with IEP’s. She is patient and was willing to talk to their previous tutor to allow us to have a smooth transition. We meet in person and we are pleased with her services.

Emily is wonderful!

Emily was so prepared teaching my son who has ADHD and she had all the necessary tools to teach a child with what my son was looking for. She's very kind, sweet and very serious about her job as a tutor. I definitely recommend her to you! See you in our next session Emily!

Great first lesson! Very well planned out

Ms. Emily gave our 3.5 year old her first official taste of “school”. Emily came prepared with lots of great manipulatives and resources, and had a well thought out and detailed lesson plan for the day to get our daughter introduced to the preschool basics. We were happily surprised that she made her first attempts at writing her name alongside the help of Emily. Rayna is very excited to continue her tutoring with Ms. Emily.
