I’m a PhD candidate at UC Berkeley working on Artificial Intelligence. I received my Bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley in Applied Math and Electrical Engineering & Computer Science. I started as teaching assistant at UC Berkeley for a Calculus class. It was during that time that I realized I really enjoy teaching. Since then I've worked with hundreds of students helping them with school & college- level Math and Test Prep (SAT Math, ACT).
One of my main goals is to make sure that the student understands the concepts and uses logical reasoning to solve problems rather than memorizing how to do a specific problem and hoping that a similar problem shows up on the test.
I have taught students Algebra, Geometry, Pre Calculus, Calculus (I, II, & III), Linear Algebra, Discrete Math. I also provide tutoring for various tests like ISEE, SAT, SAT-Subjects, ACT and GRE. I have tutored over 40 students in SAT Math and SAT level I&II (Math). All my students have scored over 760 and 12 students achieved perfect score. I'm very proud of that number and constantly work on improving it.
As most tutors would agree, seeing the "Aha!" moments is a major reward. I enjoy helping students realize that Math isn't a scary or a daunting subject and it can be rather fun.
