Hi! I’m a veteran educator with 34 years of teaching experience and a Master’s Degree in Education. I’ve taught grades 2–5 for most of my career, along with 7 years teaching grades 6–8, giving me a deep understanding of what students need at every stage of elementary and middle school development.

My biggest passion is helping students become confident, capable readers and writers. I’ve spent decades supporting struggling readers, building foundational skills, and helping students find success in literacy through patient, individualized instruction.

Areas I specialize in:

• Reading intervention
• Struggling readers & confidence building
• Writing skills (organization, grammar, fluency)
• Reading comprehension strategies
• Homework help for grades 2–8
• Study skills & executive functioning
• Skill-building for students who feel “stuck” or discouraged

My Teaching Approach:

I begin by identifying each student’s unique strengths and areas for growth. From there, I create personalized lessons that build skills step-by-step and help students feel successful right away. I believe learning should be encouraging, engaging, and tailored to each child’s needs.

Parents appreciate my clear communication, structured instruction, and the consistent progress their children make. Students appreciate that I’m patient, supportive, and always focused on helping them feel more confident.

Whether your child needs reading intervention, writing support, or general academic help, I’m here to empower them with the tools, strategies, and confidence they need to succeed.

I look forward to supporting your child’s learning journey!

ADHD

ADHD

I have extensive experience supporting children with ADHD—both as a mother and as a teacher of 34 years. My son has ADHD, and many of my students over the years have had ADHD as well. Because of this, I deeply understand their energy, creativity, and unique way of seeing the world. I truly believe ADHD is a superpower, and I love helping children channel their strengths, build confidence, and feel proud of who they are.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I have 34 years of teaching experience supporting students in grades 2–8 with reading comprehension, fluency, vocabulary development, phonics, and overall literacy growth. Throughout my career, I have helped countless struggling and reluctant readers build the skills and confidence needed to become successful, independent readers. My approach is patient, supportive, and targeted to each child’s needs. I assess strengths and areas for growth, then design personalized lessons that help students make steady, meaningful progress.
Homeschool

Homeschool

With 34 years of classroom experience teaching grades 2–8, I am highly skilled in supporting homeschool students with individualized, structured, and engaging lessons across reading, writing, and general academics. I understand how to create routines, provide targeted instruction, and build confidence in learners who benefit from a one-on-one or small-group setting.
Needlework

Needlework

With 45 years of crochet experience and over two decades of teaching, I love helping students discover the joy of creating with yarn.
