Need help with your chemistry course? I have 30 years of college-level chemistry teaching experience. Also, I have tutored high school and AP chemistry students who have gone on to succeed on the college and graduate levels, including one who earned the annual Chem. Dept. award every year at her university. I bring my large chemistry set to every tutoring session! It is filled with demos, mini-labs, and hands-on learning activities to aid in your understanding of the material. Working together, I can help you develop the conceptual, mathematical, and problem-solving skills necessary to succeed in your course!

In addition to teaching chemistry I have done chemical research involving fuel cell electrocatalysis and synthesis of transition metal pyridylimido complexes (thought to be key intermediates in the commercially important ammoxidation process). I've also worked as a Scientific Information Analyst, quality control chemist for GTS water analysis lab, and have edited chemistry texts and educational materials for McGraw-Hill. In addition to teaching I love to garden and work out in the gym.

I have a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry (Presidential Scholar, Kansas State University), and a B.A. in Chemistry and Math (Park University, Summa Cum Laude).

Please note: Currently I am accepting students taking high school and college freshman chemistry courses. Currently I am not accepting students who are taking "advanced inorganic chemistry" (a college level sophomore / junior level course or higher).

  • Rate details: Group rates are available for students covering the same material: 2 students @ $40 per hour. 3 students @ $30 per hour. 4 students @ $25 per hour.

Great Teacher; Comprehensive

During our session, Pamela taught me much needed information for my AP chemistry class involving fundamental concepts for which I needed to solidify my understanding. She made sure everything I did was correct; she didn't want to leave any room for error, and I greatly appreciate that. Overall, based on this first session, she's an amazing tutor.

Awesome!

I was nervous going into my first lesson today because chemistry is definitely not my strong suit. By the end of my lesson, I felt like I had learned so much within the hour.
