I’m LaTonya, an educator and mentor with over 10 years of experience in teaching, public health training, and academic support. I hold a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Health Policy and Management from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Health Education from the University of Central Arkansas.
Currently, I serve as an ACT Math Instructor at the University of Central Arkansas, where I help students improve their ACT Math scores by 5+ points. I create ACT-aligned lessons that focus on algebra, geometry, and data analysis, using diagnostic assessments to identify learning gaps and tailor instruction to each student’s needs. My approach is both personalized and data-driven, ensuring students gain confidence and measurable results.
Beyond the classroom, I’ve mentored over 50 students across 11 universities through my consulting work with U.R.A. Resource Center, LLC. This includes one-on-one academic coaching, project planning, and technical training in tools like Excel, SAS, R, and EpiInfo. I’ve worked with students from high school through graduate school, supporting both academic and career development.
I’m a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) and a Certified Grant Writer. I’ve also completed specialized training in crisis management and public health project management. My teaching style is student-centered, engaging, and empowering. I focus on building confidence, making learning relevant, and celebrating progress every step of the way.
Whether you're preparing for a standardized test, strengthening your math skills, or exploring public health and data analysis, I’m here to support your journey.
