I have a Master's of Science degree in Mathematics from Texas A&M University. After 20 years in the corporate world, I have been an Assistant Professor at a local university for 12.5 years. While in graduate school, I tutored extensively and was very successful with my students, often helping a student raise an "F" at midterm to a "B" by the end of the semester. I have been selected as Honorable Mention for Teacher of the Year at my university and I am a popular teacher. I like to help students have fun with math and remove their fear. I am also patient and work with a positive attitude as well as help my students work with a positive attitude. My method of tutoring is to learn how the student's mind works with math, encourage them to spot and understand their mistakes, but I rarely work a problem for a student. That does not help them. Instead, we may talk through a tough problem together as I help them to analyze the problem and proceed.
