Learning should be fun and stimulating! I myself have always been an avid learner with a thirst and excitement for knowledge. I excelled throughout high school, taking advanced Biology, English, and Math classes. I also have experience with rigorous Advanced Placement courses. The challenging learning environment at the University of Florida required a great deal of self-discipline, but my study skills improved significantly there because of it. I graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Nutrition.
My tutoring experience is mainly in the elementary and middle school age groups. I tutored a child with attention-deficit disorder for two years with noted success. For a year, I served as a volunteer tutor and mentor to at-risk youth in Gainesville, which was extremely rewarding. Learning styles are as varied as people and the best way to communicate knowledge is to find out a person’s learning style and work around it. Teachers in schools are not afforded the opportunity to cater a class around a single learning style, but I will give you that luxury. My strengths as a teacher are patience, dedication, and creativity. I look forward to the opportunity of working together toward success!
