I am an experienced classroom teacher with an extensive background in literature and writing. I also have a thorough knowledge of the new SAT and TOEFL iBT along with professional training on how to help students prepare for these exams. Most of all, I have a passion for teaching and a heart for junior high and high school students.
My students love my dynamic teaching style and creative learning activities, and I strive to make my lessons fun and educational at the same time. My educational background and classroom experience have prepared me to work with students on a variety of academic subjects. I received my B.A. in English from UCLA, where I was a departmental honors scholar and cum laude graduate. I am also currently a candidate for an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Biola University. In the past few years, I have taught at such respected educational institutes as Berlitz, Kaplan Aspect, GEOS, and Fairmont Academy in California.

I have completed my Masters degree coursework in Applied Linguistics and fulfilled all requirements for the TESOL Certificate at Biola University. I also have several years of experience teaching ESL English with accredited schools in the U.S. and abroad.

I have taken courses in teaching grammar along with actual classroom experience. Both my academic and professional background also demonstrate an expert knowledge of this area, since I possess a B.A. in English from UCLA, and previously worked as a copyediting/proofreader for two educational publishers, McGraw-Hill and Learning Tree International.

TOEFL
|
I have received training in teaching TOEFL iBT preparation at Aspect Kaplan, and I have experience teaching an intensive TOEFL course at GEOS Academy. I have a thorough knowledge of the test and believe I could help students prepare for this challenging exam.
