Ron has worked as a supervisor, patrol officer, traffic officer and traffic case investigator during his career in law enforcement. Duties performed during this time included being a field training officer, gang task force officer and an urban police rifle (UPR) rapid deployment team member and was also in charge of all less lethal training for the department. Prior to working with a municipal Police Department, Ron was employed by the State of South Dakota as a correctional officer and an intensive parole agent.

Ron currently holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD and a masters in educational administration of adult and higher education from the University of South Dakota with a focus on law enforcement training and reality based training development. He has been a coach in wrestling and football as well as a strength and conditioning coach.

Ron has been actively involved in law enforcement training since 1994. He is currently an Armament Systems and Procedures. INC (ASP) certified instructor trainer, conducting basic and instructor certification program for state academies throughout the United States and agencies worldwide. He also holds instructor certifications as a Verbal Judo instructor, an OC chemical munitions instructor, (PCR) physical conflict resolution instructor and a Reality based training instructor. Ron has consulted for Federal, County, Municipal, military and security agencies and conducted defensive tactic certification programs for them. While in college I took courses in athletic training and worked with strength and conditioning coaches and was named weight lifter of the year two times while being a four year starter on the football team. I am a certified instructor in Practical police kinesiology instructor course through Velocity sports performance. I continue to do private training for high school students in football and wrestling developing strength and conditioning programs for them.

I was a 4 year college starting defensive tackle and took courses in athletic training which included working with strength and conditioning coaches to develop fitness programs. I am a certified instructor in Practical police kinesiology instructor course through Velocity sports performance and assist individuals in developing fitness programs that will meet their needs and strengthen their fitness. I continue to do private training for high school students in football, wrestling developing strength and conditioning programs for them through acceleration training.

Football

I was a 4 year college starting defensive tackle and have continued to coach football and wrestling to high school students. While in college I took courses in athletic training and worked with strength and conditioning coaches. I am a certified instructor in Practical police kinesiology,and in Velocity sports performance. I continue to do private training for high school students in football, wrestling, and strength and conditioning.

Martial Arts

I have been actively involved in law enforcement training since 1994. I am a Armament Systems and Procedures. INC (ASP) certified instructor trainer, conducting basic and instructor certification in close quarters combat including hand to hand combat in Systema and Krav Maga, knife fighting/defense and countermeasures. I also teach personal self defense and weapons courses in the private sector.

Public Speaking

With my work in my masters degree program and extensive experience as a instruction in the law enforcement field, I have developed several public speaking technique. I currently teach a instructor development course that includes modules on public speaking and how to be a effective and captivating presenter when doing public speeches.
