Tutoring follows a very predictable pattern each semester. Early in the semester, very few students seek tutoring. Student numbers slowly increase until about midterms and there is a spike, then things calm back down again until closer to finals. For about the last month of classes, I usually have more students than the rest of the semester combined. Students start realizing they have to pick it up in order to get a good final grade or that they have forgotten earlier material. This can make my job as a tutor much more difficult.
