I did not realize my passion and gift in teaching until one of my engineer colleagues was having problems in meeting deadlines and was close to being put on a performance improvement plan. So I took the initiative to coach and mentor him. Through a trusting and candid dialogue, I determined that setting priorities was his performance challenge. After several coaching sessions, not only was he able to successfully meet his manager’s performance expectation, but I found out helping people who were struggling to find a way to succeed is something that's truly rewarding and gratifying.
Equipped with years of experience in software development in the medical industry, I am able to quickly pinpoint the root cause of people's frustration and assist them to figure out the solution for themselves.
I always believe in students' intellect no matter how unsure they are of themselves. By teaching students how to fish rather than feeding them fish, and teaching them strategies to face challenges rather than solving the problems for them, I usually am able to help them to realize their own potential.
