Best agency on the market
Wyzant is definitely the best agency offering tutoring services in this increasingly competitive market. As a professional private teacher/tutor, I have been working with Wyzant and several other agencies over many years now, and greatly appreciate its system. Wyzant has by far the best customer service, the most helpful and user-friendly technical approach, and the most convenient fee & ratings system, which is sure to attract the most competitive tutors (other agencies tend to set the fees for tutors, while Wyzant allows its tutors the freedom to set their own terms as real independent contractors). Even though I receive offers constantly from other agencies, I give priority only to Wyzant. Moreover, I've sometimes suggested my students to benefit from promotions I offer on Wyzant; and I refer only Wyzant to students who call me about subjects I don't teach, simply because the terms are superior on Wyzant. Students can pay by credit card, which is of great help to private tutors as this allows tutors to focus on teaching rather than accounting matters. I have also referred Wyzant to a couple of foreign friends skilled in languages and teaching who could therefore start their careers in the U.S.A. working as private tutors through Wyzant.
Great website makes finding students easy!
It took a bit of time and effort to build up my profile but once you are established your tutoring will flourish. The new format for applying for tutoring jobs is excellent. I always receive responses to questions via email promptly.
Easy to find work!
Wyzant has made it super easy for me to setup tutoring sessions on the side. I currently teach middle and high school mathematics, so I am always looking for ways to make extra cash. With my schedule and my background, tutoring offers me the flexibility to do what I love doing. The best part about tutoring is I get to work one-on-one with students, which I rarely get to do with my classes of 30 plus. With Wyzant, getting my name out to students was easy. Thanks wyzant!
Finding lots of new students
WyzAnt has worked wonders for my tutoring schedule. Within a month of putting up my tutor profile on WyzAnt, I was able to fill up my afternoons, evenings, and weekends with students. The feature that sends me a text whenever a new tutoring opportunity arises is great. I would recommend this site to anyone who is looking for students. It is more effective than any other service I have tutored for in terms of finding and bringing on board new students - fast! WyzAnt pays its tutors a generous percentage with the ability to increase that percentage by putting in a certain number of tutoring hours. I'm not sure the search by category feature works, however. Whenever I attempt to search for a specific topic, like "Spanish," the search returns zero results for requests for tutoring in that subject. My overall experience with WyzAnt is an overwhelmingly positive one. The site is user friendly for students, parents, and tutors. It is so quick and easy to connect students in need with many qualified tutors that students can usually start the same day that they request a tutor! Getting paid is also quick and easy with WyzAnt's direct deposit options. WyzAnt has done a spectacular job of putting together a tutoring site.
Rewarding experience every time!
Tutoring has brought new meaning to my life. There is nothing in the world nicer than watching your students' "light bulbs" turning on, when you explain a concept that appeared difficult or confusing that all of a sudden starts making sense. Students motivation rises when they think they get it or when they feel successful in any given subject. Tutoring has given me a new purpose and I recommend it to everyone that has the time to commit to help a student of any age.

Great lead generation system
Since I joined WyzAnt over 2 months ago, the number of qualified leads increase every day. I really enjoyed tutoring my students and witness their improvement. One on one tutoring indeed pays off for students looking a way to really understand concepts, specially with subjects such as Math.
I joined Wyzant last October and so far, so good. Their policies are fair; the tutors' percentage is ahead of the industry; our support system is outstanding. While I have been tutoring for many years, this company shows a very effective way to meet and start teaching students with whom I would not otherwise come in contact. I've been recommending my teacher friends to join up and now with the new Wyzant Rewards System, it should be even more fun.
Unbelieveably User Friendly and Efficient Website
I must say I was a bit skeptical about signing up as a tutor with WyzAnt. I saw postings come through looking for tutors for quite a while before I decided to take the plunge. Compared to other on-line experiences, your website is quite easy to figure out. Submitting a lesson and getting paid is incredibly efficient--so much better than other schools for which I have worked. Very well run company
I've been a WyzAnt tutor for about six months, and I find dealing with WyzAnt to be a pleasure. The quality of service that I have received from EVERY WyzAnt employee with whom I have had dealings has been first rate. The staff are knowledgeable, they communicate clearly, and they take responsibility for resolving issues and answering questions. The website is easy to use. Whoever is running the place knows what they are doing!

I find WyzAnt to offer a trustworthy reliable resource for connecting students with specific tutors. Maintain/improve upon this valuable service! I have found that clients get used to "how the system works" quickly. The apparent ease of "how the system works" allows tutors and students to focus on learning. Administration activities manage themselves to a large extent. I look forward to each tutoring session. I have respect for each student's curiosity.

Really Great Arrangement
I have been tutoring on WyzAnt for nearly a year and am now well over 100 hours into the experience. The website is simple and effective and indeed so much so that I have never actually had occasion to speak to anyone at WyzAnt! Everything works online pretty much perfectly. WyzAnt certainly will give you a stream of interested students (not all of whom ultimately will sign on with you for reasons you may never find out) but you certainly don't have to waste time seeking them out. And, as most tutors here note, WyzAnt deals promptly and accurately with all the payments so that you don't even have to discuss money with the students, much less chase them for payment. The service does feel a little expensive, particularly at the start until you get your percentage raised a bit, but really you get a lot of service for the money. Overall, I am very pleased to be a WyzAnt tutor and would certainly recommend WyzAnt to anyone wanting to get into the tutoring business or who is looking for a tutor.

WyzAnt has been a really powerful influence in my life. It has allowed me to follow my passion for tutoring and the system is so easy to use. I think prospective students find it very professional and informative and the process has been very simple and has worked perfectly. WyzAnt's division of subjects makes it easy for both students and tutors to meet their objectives and the guided communication process protects everyone. Wyzant is a great opportunity for college students to supplement their income. The website is very user friendly and simple for even the most inexperienced of tutors.
As a tutor, wyzant is great. It offers a quality website that consolidates the search for multiple subjects. So to my clients, it appears that I'm much bigger than I am. This gives me great visibility, and gives the customer more confidence since this is a 'company' instead of am individual. The billing is very convenient, and really shields both the customer and the tutor from billing concerns.
So far, my experience with WyzAnt has been quite pleasant and very beneficial, during the few short months I have been a WyzAnt tutor. The supply of prospects has been quite good. (I don't know how they promote the website, but so far it seems to be working quite effectively -- especially when compared to others on which I am listed.) Also, the percentage rate of return is quite reasonable (especially after the first 50 hours ;^), and generally better than most other similar services. The company's attitude has been quite good, so far, and the problems usually get fixed reasonably well and promptly. I also appreciate their sincere desire for feedback -- plus the fact that (unlike some others) they don't seem to be offended by complaints (or even nit-picking about exam questions). bam ("Professor BAM") P.S. Over the past few decades, I have dealt with at least ten different tutoring agencies (in addition to having worked for two major test-prep firms, and having my own private clients). I would consider WyzAnt to be one of the top two, if not the best of them all.
I have really enjoyed my time tutoring through WyzAnt over the past year and a half. I've had many opportunities to share my knowledge and abilities in various subject matters with all different ages of people, from kids to adults. It is so much fun to watch people learn and grow week after week or have a one-time session where they are determined to master something quickly. Plus you can't beat the safety and reliability that WyzAnt offers. It's comforting to know that you don't have to worry about not getting paid and there's a certain amount of security. I have been very happy with my clients through this service and feel safe going to student's homes. I have been listed on several other sites, but only get my clients through WyzAnt no matter where I have lived. I have been working steady and have a lot of clients to choose from.
