I have greatly enjoyed my experience and learned while tutoring with WyzAnt. The students have been tremendous and my range of subjects has increased over time, thus improving my marketability. Some of the students have been located very close to my house (< four miles) improving my daily productivity. The customer service/technical service people at WyzAnt do a tremendous job of addressing specific issues in a timely fashion. The flexibility of the system has been very helpful.
Very happy with this service
I have tried other tutoring companies before, as well as, have used a tutoring company in the past once to prepare for a final exam. After using a tutor myself and paying for two hours of absolutely no help at all, I always make sure that my clients will never feel that way. This company is the most user friendly tutoring service I have found yet. I am surprised how many students I was able to find, and how many actually contacted me. Great work!
Great service
Working with WyzAnt has been an overwhelmingly positive experience for me. I tried making it on my own as a tutor for a while, but was never able to build up a stable clientele. WyzAnt takes care of all the behind the scenes work, allowing me to focus on what I do best. They really earn their keep. I just recently passed the 400+ hour mark with them and couldn't be happier. Whenever I have had issues or questions, they have always been quick to respond and quick to resolve them to my satisfaction. Their staff is friendly and helpful, and I know the students I work with are really happy with the service as well. Thanks guys!
I can't even begin to describe how elated I am to be a part of the Wyzant Community. To be honest with you, I simply stumbled onto the website one day, and I thought, "Hey, I'm a good teacher and I just want to help others." Wyzant provides the perfect vehicle for exactly that. I've wanted to be a tutor for a long time, but I didn't know how to get involved. Wyzant is perfect for those who want to help others without having to do the legwork to find students. The process was simple, just fill out the information that you should know by heart anyways. Within a few days you're set to go. The certifiable tests are great as well, they test your overall knowledge of the subject without requiring you to be perfect. I'm so happy with this website that I've told all my friends and family about it. I highly recommend you join this site if you love to help people and make money in the process. Wyzant takes all the politics, potential conflicts, and work out of the way, so that you as the tutor can just concentrate on teaching your students. It doesn't get any easier than this! WyzAnt is great for so many reasons! One is because students can email me directly any lesson question(s). They also send me helpful emails when a Spanish or French tutor is needed. I also like not having to deal with checks or credit cards. Direct deposit is so easy and WyzAnt enables me to concentrate just on the teaching part, not the when and how I'll get paid part. They are also supportive (I learned this last year when a student decided to cancel an hour before a lesson, so they value my time). Lastly, I've been able to teach and really help more than 5 great students in my neighborhood this past year, thanks to WyzAnt. I highly recommend WyzAnt to any current teacher who wants to tutor with a supportive organization, and get paid at a rate per hour that is appropriate. With a MA degree in learning styles, I felt underpaid from other tutoring companies before I found WyzAnt. I love how WyzAnt allows the tutor to decide the hourly rate.
Finding Students
This has, for the most part, been a positive experience. I like working for this company. Listing are prompt and useful. Sometimes a little disappointing finding more students. But all in all a great company to work for. Looking forward to working here for quite a while.
Great Service
Wyzant works great because the scheduling is set by me. However, initially the pay percent is very low unless we set a high price for tutoring in which case the number of students approacing us is minimized.
All potential so far
I have only been aboard about a week and have only found potential jobs. I've emailed close to ten opportunities, 3 have replied and of those, one seems interested when the semester begins in September. In the last half of August, there are virtually no current classes in session, so I can't expect as much. I'm anxious to see how things pick up once school is back in session. I'm very comfortable with the layout and functioning of the site. I can easily find opportunities and respond to them.
It was very easy to sign up as a new tutor. My Profile page is very attractive. The Marketing Materials that you offer are excellent. It was less than a week before I received my first client. I AM REALLY EXCITED ABOUT BEING A WYZANT TUTOR!
Great Opportunities to render Service
I have had the opportunity to utilize my skills as a means providing a needed service, with the overall intent of giving back to others, because knowledge gained is something that one will take with himself or herself, and no one can take it away. WyzAnt has provided me with an excellent platform, with modern day technology, to do this and I encourage others to utilize WyzAnt's features with the ultimate intent providing a real service by enhancing our society.
WyzAnt has live people to talk to, should you call in about an issue! That's been very helpful to me as a fairly new tutor, when I had a few topics in dealing with students that seemed to fall outside the the FAQ set of answers, or frankly I thought the topic wouldn't be covered and so I didn't look there. The several reps answering the phone are very easy to talk to, easily understand the issues I've raised, and come up with practical solutions.

My tutoring experience with Wyzant has been seamless and better organized than I could have accomplish without the organization's help. Despite having run a language school myself for nearly 5 years, I have found that working freelance has many pitfalls including enforcing cancellation policies, keeping track of billing, and payment information for taxes at end of year. Working with Wyzant allows me to accept credit cards, basically, and be assured that payment will be forthcoming on a regular schedule. In addition, the communication between student and tutor is greatly enhanced by the online session reports which also help me to keep track of what my student and I have done together. Finally, the staff at Wyzant is intelligent, helpful and responsive. I have recommended other teachers to Wyzant with the knowledge that their experience will undoubtedly be as consistently good quality as my own has been. Many thanks!
The website is good
The website is easy to use. The payments are made in a timely fashion. The two tutoring jobs I've had so far have been quality clients and we have worked well together. I think the payment plans deter many potential tutoring jobs.
I was surprised how easily it was to start working for WyzAnt. They take care of the students by making sure each tutor is certified in each of their subjects. They take care of the tutors by making sure to answer as soon as possible any of their questions. WyzAnt's availability goes along with regular hours of a work day. The tutor has total control over the amount the student will be billed. WyzAnt even lets each student give a testimonial of the service received to enhance each tutors profile and reputation. I would recommend WyzAnt to anyone!
Excellent for Tutors and Students
I started with WyzAnt 13 months ago and they have provided me with many tutoring opportunities. Based on over 600 hours of tutoring through WyzAnt, I strongly recommend WyzAnt to anyone interested in tutoring and to anyone in need of a tutor. For tutors, they have excellent marketing and administrative skills. They handle all the billing and allow you to focus more on tutoring. For students, they certify tutors, provide student feedback on the tutors, display background information on tutors and courses, safely and reliably handle billing, etc. WyzAnt is an excellent alternative for both tutors and students.
An Answered Prayer
WyzAnt is a fantastic website for tutors seeking students and students seeking tutors. Communication to the management of WyzAnt is so simple; they're literally an email away. I was ready to get back into the tutoring field but I had lost a few connections and didn't exactly know where to start looking. Anyone can post flyers on a mailbox, but when it rains and they fall off, what's the use? Word of mouth is a great way to share your name, but how many prospective students could just one person know? The Internet has grown into a new dimension of communication, and with it came WyzAnt. WyzAnt is a safe and easy way to contact students who need exactly what you have to offer. So far, I have had 5 students, 3 of which have religiously stayed with me. Just think: Those are 3 students I could not have found without WyzAnt. I would recommend WyzAnt to anyone and everyone who is looking for tutors or students. Their service is impeccable!
How to Make Uploading Videos Easy For Your Tutors
You've done a good jobs mapping out most of the information tutors need. But when it comes to uploading videos the site needs to be improved. This is what you need to tell your tutors: -The video file formats accepted: (i.e. .AVI,.MPEG4,.WMV .FLV ) -The size it must be under: 100MB (BEFORE THEY LOAD THE VIDEO- not at the moment they load the video) - How to compress their videos if needed: Open and resave in Windows Live Movie Maker, use http://www.youconvertit.com , etc. Telling your tutors that the rules for YouTube apply is not helpful. Especially since YouTube accepts a larger file size than Wyzant.

Wyzant has been an excellent resource to reach more students. I have been able to help students in both a short-term capacity, and on a longer term basis. The ease of using Wyzant to reach potential students is incredible. I get 4 or 5 inquiries a week.
More than Tutoring
WyzAnt has helped me continue my passion of Chinese-English bi-lingual teaching! It does not only bring me extra income and flexibility of my schedules, but also brings one of the most wonderful things to my life. That is the precious friendship with my students, as well as their parents.
WyzAnt has given me a unique opportunity to work closely with students in mathematics and science who have either not been successful in these subjects in the past or are interested in developing deeper understandings. I am impressed with the quality of the clients and have been extremely pleased by their response to the tutoring. WyzAnt is a great place for me to continue refining the practice of teaching outside of the classroom. I have really come to appreciate the importance of interactions in learning and have been fortunate to watch children grow academically as well as in their confidence and ability.
I am really enjoying my experience as a tutor for WyzAnt. They have a very easy-to-navigate website, and a straight-forward payment system (for both tutors and clients). Any time that I have needed to contact the company (which has not been much!), I have gotten a REAL response email, not one of those automated impersonal unhelpful responses. My students appreciate the flexibility of my schedule, and that the tutoring can happen right in their own home where they are most comfortable.
Easy to Use!

Positive Experience
I have been with Wyzant for a few weeks, and it has been a very positive experience. Getting my first students took about three weeks, but I found with determination and continued responses to e-mails I was able to pick up four students in one week. The fourth student declined after the first session because he was unwilling to do the work required to get the wanted grade. This was much to the consternation of the parents; but you can't force someone to learn. Since then I have picked up one more student, which is about all I can handle right now. I have seen the students, and especially parents, really appreciate the effort to help their children improve and once a student/teacher rapport is developed it turns out to be a lot of fun for both parties. The important things are be flexible in your teaching style, be adaptable to the students/parents desires and KNOW YOUR SUBJECTS. Few things will turn off a student faster than trying to talk around a topic the tutor is not thoroughly familiar with. The only recommendation I would have is to make the subject tests longer with more questions from a master question file and put a time limit on the test. This would allow tutors to retake tests later without seeing the same questions again and ensure more thorough topic mastery.
