I love my students and I've found all of them through WyzAnt!
Working with WyzAnt has been a great experience overall. I am incredibly grateful to have found so many great English, ESL, Language Arts, Spanish, Proofreading and Test Preparation students through WyzAnt. Now, if only I could find some students in Anthropology, my college major and a subject I love tutoring, the experience would be complete! My students range from a visiting PhD. scholar at Stanford, to college and high school English, ESL, Spanish, and SAT students, to a 3rd grader in my hometown of Pacifica, and they have all been wonderful to work with. The WyzAnt website is generally easy to use and is a great tool for attracting new students. WyzAnt's office staff are friendly, very competent, and a pleasure to deal with. I have never had any 'customer service' issues with WyzAnt. It's amazing how smoothly it runs. There are only two things I'd like to see improved - the commission rate and the rewards points system. I'd like to be able to move to a higher commission rate more rapidly and would like to see the rewards points system expanded to give tutors points for high student ratings, such as I have, and for productivity. I have completed 200+ hours with WyzAnt and look forward to many more.
I have been impressed with the professionalism of WyzAnt. With such a large number of tutors nationwide, the company still takes a keen interest in making sure things run smoothly. Having never worked before for such a large company, I had some doubts. But I have become one of WyzAnt's most vocal supporters. Good job!
I have been a tutor for the last 7 years. During this period, I have experienced many ups and downs of this field. It is indeed a great experience to be part of the WyzAnt team. Here are a few key points that distinguish WyzAnt from others: 1) Their selection process ensures that only qualified tutors are on their panel, which in turn ensures quality. 2) Their way of communication is excellent. As soon as there is an interested student, it is published on web page and email is sent to the tutors in that area. If the student has sent any email to the tutor through the website, the tutor is informed via email immediately. In the email, it is clear whether WyzAnt has billing information or not. If billing information is there, we can exchange our phone number to make the communication fast. In today’s fast world, this quick communication makes a lot of difference and distinguishes WyzAnt from other websites. 3) Their method of payment is very good. I was really impressed when I received my first payment on the date specified without any reminders. It is really awesome when one gets his/her due payment. The best part is when they released the payment, I got a very prompt email stating “your payment is on the way.”. 4) Their different schemes to motivate the tutors are really excellent. It really motivates me to do better and better day-by-day. 5) Last but not least, I want to say that WyzAnt is indeed a vibrant team of tutors and coordinators. I feel proud of myself to be part of it.
My experience with students has been a very positive one. I like the fact I can choose my own hours and decide when I want to work. The payment system and entering of lessons into the system is great. I also like the fact that students can search for me and contact me if they are interested in my tutoring services. So, far the experience has been a positive one and I look forward to more lessons.

I joined WyzAnt as a tutor a few weeks ago. I took the various math (and physics) subject tests in order to be certified (easy!). Since then I have sent emails to more than a dozen prospective students, and while most of them didn't respond, a few inquired further and one has begun using me as a regular tutor. I find the site easy to navigate and very easy to use, both for looking for tutoring jobs and for keeping track of all the emails coming and going (the entire mailing procedure is designed quite well). It is also quite simple to submit my lessons and also see my earnings grow. I appreciate getting an email from WyzAnt, usually one per day, informing me of new tutoring opportunities in my area. The email serves as a reminder to go look on the site for possible students to contact. It would be helpful to know if a prospective student is not interested in my services (after I spent the time to email them) -- I certainly can't expect them to send me an email saying so -- however, if they have decided to begin using a different WyzAnt tutor, then I would at least know that they were no longer looking around. As it is now, I'm not sure when to "remove" the prospective student from my list of "current" students. Maybe the list of "current students" that I see on my profile page could differentiate between prospective students and those who are actually using me as a tutor. (Might that same list also indicate if the student has begun work with another WyzAnt tutor?) I increased my usual hourly rate somewhat to reflect the pay rate percentage (60% to start, 65% after 20 hrs. etc.), and I have been a little concerned that prospective students might be discouraged from using me as a tutor because my rate is higher than many other tutors on the site. I am struggling to balance the two competing factors -- the amount I think my time is worth vs. the minimum I would be willing to accept (in order to attract more students). Although I want to be well paid (and believe I'm worth it), in the end I so enjoy the process of teaching and mentoring young students that I am quite willing to lower my rate when requested to do so (as I have done for my first regular student). This is an ideal site for tutors to connect with prospective students. I look forward to getting more students, and the day when my pay percentage increases! Thanks.

You know when you get used to some service and stop noticing those things that bothered you at the beginning? And then when you are told they finally got fixed you dread it, because it means it's going to be a mess until everything is smoothed out? Well, that never happens with WyzAnt. Ever. First of all, few things bother you to begin with. The things that might bother you are always rather small, and their excellent feedback forum means they get noticed right away. The most amazing part? They also get fixed right away! Usually, by the time I get around to the forum to suggest something, it's already marked as 'underway.' And the suggestions that are plain silly are ignored, which is almost as important as the good ones being heard. Secondly, every update, improvement and change in general to the website is done with professionalism and impeccable precision. I have not experienced a single bug, and every improvement has truly been one, rather than an arbitrary change. That is something very, very rare indeed. All in all, congratulations WyzAnt for a job excellently done.
Excellent Overall Service
Although only registered with WyzAnt since June, 2011, I am thoroughly pleased with the overall excellence of the website (especially the automated "New Opportunities" e-mails based on one's subject areas & radius area parameters), customer service, and the option to "View New Jobs." The "View New Jobs" option is an extremely valuable feature, particularly for me since the other (2)tutoring/coaching businesses with whom I am registered do not have this feature. Even though my 1st student was a short-term contract, I made the connection (10) days after registering. For me, that was a quick & great turnaround! I look forward to a long-term & successful experience with WyzAnt. :o)
Of all the tutoring companies that I have worked with, WyzAnt has proven to be the most reliable in terms of student referrals and also the most rewarding as to the nature of those assignments. I have enjoyed working with all my WyzAnt students and feel that I have been successful at helping them learn Latin and Greek. Not a small matter, also, is their helpful and dependable payroll system, now made even better with their daily payment schedule.
I would just like to summarize how the opportunity to tutor a student one on one can significantly make a difference not only in learning basic skills, but making a significant difference in the student's attitude toward learning. John (not real name) has had a difficult year. He has had some learning issues and requires more attention than can be given in a regular classroom. The attention goes beyond basic skills, but really centers on positive reinforcement, immediate success, encouragement, and establishing confidence. These are all things we talk about in education, but by tutoring for WyzAnt, I have seen how powerful it can be in a one to one setting. John told me he doesn't have a good outlook for the remainder of the year. His teachers have more or less conceded, at least in his mind, that this year will not be a success. I have found in most of our one on one sessions, we have talked more about and modeled learning from mistakes, building on success in small parts, and constantly reinforcing good effort. What I have seen happen is that John feels more confident about what he is doing and focuses less on what he can't do. The specific curriculum gives him a better chance of success and that success is leading to more success. Our high point came during our last session. John had a smile on his face as he was getting his spelling correct, answering questions, and not afraid when something was not correct. It was such a dramatic change in such a short time! It was simply the consistent opportunity to get one on one attention and focus on the positive. At the end of the last lesson, he said "This is really cool" and shook my hand. It's not that anyone really was "cool", just that this program can help people who really need it, not only with the subject matter but with building self-esteem and an interest in learning as well.
Since I signed up with WyzAnt, I have received quite a few tutoring inquiries. I am currently still working with one of these students, which is an excellent experience indeed! It has definitely been a very positive experience and I'm so happy that I am one of the WyzAnt tutors! This company is of high quality and very professional.
A Fantastic Way for Professionals to Earn Extra Money
I began tutoring through WyzAnt in March, 2011, and I have a completely full tutoring schedule. I know of no other way I could have promoted myself in so many towns and communities. WyzAnt is easy to work with, promotes its tutors on attractive profile pages, and resolves every issue promptly and easily. I vastly prefer working with WyzAnt than dealing with students on their own; in fact, I have found that students who pay cash are less reliable. Everyone is vetted, and I have never been cheated. I think this is a great service and it has become a significant portion of my income.

My experience with Wyzant has been very positive. This has been the only venue through which I have been able to find students to tutor. Also, Wyzant's customer service has been outstanding. Simple and Slick
Just recently I had my first tutoring job and I must admit that I was skeptical of the whole system when I first heard about it through another tutor in the system. Once I did the sessions and submitted the lessons, I was surprised to find that the structure of billing and finding lessons was so easy! I really love the flexibility and simplicity that WyzAnt offers without compromising the validity of the tutor! The structure is so simple anyone can do it and the layout is so professional that it gives each tutor an edge!
WyzAnt is an excellent resource for both the student and the tutor! An easy to use format allows students to find a local tutor and contact them for help in a particular subject. The most useful tool I have found, so far, is the email notification. If a student sends an email to you, the WyzAnt team sends your personal email account a notice. I don't have to check my email on WyzAnt daily! I have too many email accounts to keep track of. Thank you WyzAnt!

WyzAnt is the best part-time tutoring experience I have ever know of or dealt with as a tutor. As a full time teacher, I wanted some students who wanted tutoring, but I hated to sell my services. For one, the online sales was beyond my skills. I do not know how to drive customers to a site! Then, I am fearful of meeting people online. Finally, I am not successful as a bill collector. So, really needed the help of Wyzant. So far, I have met many learners who need help. I found that the Wyzant website is most beneficial to me as a tutor. I have a web presence, but I do have to worry about security. When I meet with my students, I do not have ask for money, which is something I don't do well. I enjoy this job so much. Every day a new possibility for tutoring occurs. I have about one student a week, but with my teaching job this is enough. I love the service and professionalism at Wyzant.
