I signed up for WyzAnt wondering if I would find anyone looking for the specific tutoring I was qualified to teach. Within the first week I found my first student and it was worked out better than I could have imagined. I have enjoyed the experience tremendously and have recommended WyzAnt to friends and family for both tutoring and to be tutored. WyzAnt takes all the guesswork out of dealing with students and scheduling and allows me to be the most efficient doing what I should be doing - tutoring!
Really Great Arrangement
I have been tutoring on WyzAnt for nearly a year and am now well over 100 hours into the experience. The website is simple and effective and indeed so much so that I have never actually had occasion to speak to anyone at WyzAnt! Everything works online pretty much perfectly. WyzAnt certainly will give you a stream of interested students (not all of whom ultimately will sign on with you for reasons you may never find out) but you certainly don't have to waste time seeking them out. And, as most tutors here note, WyzAnt deals promptly and accurately with all the payments so that you don't even have to discuss money with the students, much less chase them for payment. The service does feel a little expensive, particularly at the start until you get your percentage raised a bit, but really you get a lot of service for the money. Overall, I am very pleased to be a WyzAnt tutor and would certainly recommend WyzAnt to anyone wanting to get into the tutoring business or who is looking for a tutor.

WyzAnt has been a really powerful influence in my life. It has allowed me to follow my passion for tutoring and the system is so easy to use. I think prospective students find it very professional and informative and the process has been very simple and has worked perfectly. WyzAnt's division of subjects makes it easy for both students and tutors to meet their objectives and the guided communication process protects everyone. The reports of statistics and helpful ideas have been great and the system is making me think about quitting the corporate world and doing this full time!
WyzAnt has been a great referral tool for my tutoring business. It is easy to find students and WyzAnt sends me an email and a text message every time that a potential student requests a tutor. Their pay is always accurate and on time and the technical team quickly responds to questions. I highly recommend tutoring through WyzAnt.

Wyzant is a great opportunity for college students to supplement their income. The website is very user friendly and simple for even the most inexperienced of tutors.
As a tutor, wyzant is great. It offers a quality website that consolidates the search for multiple subjects. So to my clients, it appears that I'm much bigger than I am. This gives me great visibility, and gives the customer more confidence since this is a 'company' instead of am individual. The billing is very convenient, and really shields both the customer and the tutor from billing concerns.
So far, my experience with WyzAnt has been quite pleasant and very beneficial, during the few short months I have been a WyzAnt tutor. The supply of prospects has been quite good. (I don't know how they promote the website, but so far it seems to be working quite effectively -- especially when compared to others on which I am listed.) Also, the percentage rate of return is quite reasonable (especially after the first 50 hours ;^), and generally better than most other similar services. The company's attitude has been quite good, so far, and the problems usually get fixed reasonably well and promptly. I also appreciate their sincere desire for feedback -- plus the fact that (unlike some others) they don't seem to be offended by complaints (or even nit-picking about exam questions). bam ("Professor BAM") P.S. Over the past few decades, I have dealt with at least ten different tutoring agencies (in addition to having worked for two major test-prep firms, and having my own private clients). I would consider WyzAnt to be one of the top two, if not the best of them all.
I have really enjoyed my time tutoring through WyzAnt over the past year and a half. I've had many opportunities to share my knowledge and abilities in various subject matters with all different ages of people, from kids to adults. It is so much fun to watch people learn and grow week after week or have a one-time session where they are determined to master something quickly. Plus you can't beat the safety and reliability that WyzAnt offers. It's comforting to know that you don't have to worry about not getting paid and there's a certain amount of security. I hope to have many more great students in my future!

It was simply: I don't think so. <br /> <br /> But then a few days passed. Something was gnawing at the back of my mind. It caused my creative juices to flow and the writer's block I had been suffering from for over two months dissipated. After writing four new flash fiction pieces, I realized that I had to write the testimonial Andrew requested. <br /> <br /> Tutoring has always been both a source of personal satisfaction and additional income for me. Tutoring comes natural to me, as many of my teachers, peers, and family have realized. I had my first paid tutoring job during the fifth grade. I tutored an uncle in English. He gave me $10 dollars for three hours of intense study. I have tutored in language arts, French, math, science, and Spanish. But my the most lucrative area and my passion has been chess. I actually made a living from my chess tutoring for 10 years. That being the case, I had to learn how to keep accurate records, how to market my services, price my services, and maintain a strong business model. <br /> <br /> I took a break from tutoring in order to earn my K-9 Teaching Certification with a Bilingual endorsement in the state of Illinois. Instead I ended up graduating with a Bachelors in Liberal Arts and Science with minors in Education, Spanish, and writing due to my getting married, buying a house, and having to begin earning an income again. <br /> <br /> And that's where I found Wyzant. While looking for additional source of income, I decided to look for more tutoring opportunities. As I had stopped tutoring for two years, I figured I could find a company to work for that would take care of most, if not all of the things that I found tedious. Doing a Google search, Wyzant caught my eye. <br /> <br /> I took the two hours I needed to sign up as a tutor. I took all the qualifying exams, wrote the necessary qualifying essays, and created my WyzAntProfile. And I sat back and waited for the clients to come in - even though Wyzant warned me that it may take time. Time it did take. It was two months before I had my first client through them. I now have four clients and am receiving prospective client notifications of five per week on average. <br /> <br /> The things I like about Wyzant are easily listed: <br /> <br /> 1. Fairness of compensation <br /> <br /> Being a Web-base business, Wyzant is easy to use to keep records of lessons, keep track of student progress, and to keep record of income earned. The information is always accurate and we receive information, payment, new prospects in a timely manner. The marketing is excellent: on any given day I can Google for tutor in Bolingbrook, IL and I am listed in the top five results. And on top of all that, Wyzant's keeps a relatively small percentage of any fees earned by me. And even better that percentage shrinks over time as I complete more lessons. Oh, and they just introduced direct deposit! <br /> <br /> Overall my experience with Wyzant has been positive. I would recommend any tutor to at least take the time to try working with Wyzant and see if they make a good fit. I don't think you would regret it. <br />
