I was skeptical at first but after we completed the first tutoring session I was completely happy! I found WyzAnt via a google search for an AP Biology Tutor for my son. It was easy to enter the information the WyzAnt website requested. I was able to look at the bio's for several potential tutors and send them an email. I got responses from several tutors right away. I even got responses from tutors I did not contact, which was fine. It was helpful to start the selection process before I had to commit my credit card to the system. The price was right so when I went to the site again the next day and had no qualms about signing up. As soon as I set up the billing I get another email from the tutor and we made arrangements for the first session. She showed up right on time, got right to work and was kind enough to stay afterward to speak with my husband and I. We didn't have to have cash available to pay her because the billing took place overnight behind the scene. Really cool! I'd say we are off to an excellent start! The website seems to provide a service that the high school does not. I spoke with the school counselor previously but he did not have tutor referrals except for student tutors. WyzAnt provides a private tutoring service that is confidential and offers a diverse selection of tutors and subjects. I save time and money using this service. My son is pleased and encouraged. The tutor we selected was recruited by her college. My son is being recruited so this was a added benefit for him. I would definitely use this service again. I did not have to use the phone and I did not have to wait for return calls. It could have taken a lot longer to find a tutor. I would like to know how WyzAnt selects people to be tutors because I noticed that a few of the folks who responded to me were working adults with no experience in tutoring and no recent academic experience. I have found that the best tutors are the ones who know the specific curriculum at the school the student attends. The tutor I selected graduated from college this year. She stated that she took AP Biology as a senior in high school. Her major was biology. For these reasons I selected her even though her high school education was out of state.
Wonderful Service!
It was so easy to use the WyzAnt service, and we really like the tutor we found(Thomas D). We just began lessons, but my son is feeling more confident in Algebra 1. I will recommend the service to others. It makes it so simple to have the account set up so you do not have to worry about writing a check each time. Your credit card is charged after the lesson. WyzAnt does seem to have a thorough screening process for accepting their tutors so this made it much easier for me to hire a tutor for my son.
JUST GREAT!
I was looking for someone than had knowledge in tutoring the ASVAB test and ended up choosing Hugh because of his feedback and come to find out he is better than I anticipated. He made learning easy which encourage me to ask questions without embarrassment. I thought hes teaching techniques were very efficient because I understood the problems in the first try, refreshed my mind in things I thought were impossible to learn quickly. HIGHLY RECOMEND HUGH FOR YOUR TUTOR, TRUST ME YOU WILL GET YOUR MONEYS WORTH!
Response time prompt and professionalee
I contacted three online companies and WyzAnt was the only company that responded with a tutor that had the specific credentials I requested. They informed me of the timeline that it would take during the process so I was not overly anxious wondering if I would get a prompt e-mail the I appreciate the offer for a background check and informing me of the time period this will take. Great program
WyzAnt is a great program. I found a tutor for my son in less than a week. I was able to review profiles of tutors and make a selection. Ms. Nady is a great teacher. My son's reading is improving and he is getting better grades. Thanks WyzAnt.
Great news for parents!
My daughter has been struggling in some of her classes, but after canvassing friends I did not have any good leads on tutors. Theirs were either too expensive, not convenient or not available. In desperation I googled "tutors in LA" and this site was listed. What a great idea! Not only do the tutors come to your house, but you can interview a number of them to find the right fit and the billing is taken care of before they arrive. One word of advice to prospective tutors...spell check your responses to parents. I don't want someone tutoring my child who cannot spell simple words. I have already recommended this site to my friends who are in the same predicament. I would like to see more client testimonials listed for each tutor. It would give me more insight into each prospective tutor, but aside from that I have no complaints about the site set-up. In fact, it is quite consumer friendly and if you do have questions the customer support is excellent. Keep up the good work!
You took the hassle out of finding some help!
By the time a parent goes to the internet to search for a tutor you can be assured that the parent is at their wits end. The parent is emotionally distraught and worried for their child's school future. I came across WyzAnt and found it easy to get answers and real easy to search. It was great to see that the tutor would be within a certain distance from your home so that you wouldn't find the right tutor then realize that you had to drive across the metroplex. We found a tutor right near our home. I liked the fact that you could email the tutor and thus get a feel for them without having to pay first. The fact that you get a 100% guarantee for the first session is great. These things are a comfort at a time when a parent needs the comfort. You need easy and not more static to add to an already emotional experience. Your site is clear and with a very basic explanation so that there are no misunderstandings as you get started.
Quick Tutor Search
Searching for a suitable tutor is quick and easy. I submitted a request through WyzAnt to find someone who could help my younger brother in Trigonometry and History and in the same day received responses from tutors in my area. At took a matter of seconds to update my billing information, and once that was done my phone number was sent to the tutors that I selected. I received a call that same day and the following day, he was able to meet with my younger brother. It was so simple I didn't need to contact customer service for anything and did it all myself. The site is easy to navigate and there is just a few steps to complete before you can get started! I heard about this site from a my friend who actually tutors on here and she assured me that the tutors are well qualified. Not just anyone can sign up to be a tutor. The tutors have to pass background checks. Overall, I am extremely happy with ease of the whole process and would definitely recommend people to this site!
Easily find a qualified tutor
This website has been a great help! I was having a lot of trouble getting in touch with my professor when I needed to ask questions and the group reviews that were held often did not answer my specific questions. At this website, in literally seconds I found a qualified tutor that helped me at a time when I was really lost and confused. Payment is easy...once your information is entered, you no longer have to worry about it...your tutor will enter the hours and WyzAnt will take care of payment. Overall, I am very grateful that this site exists to find qualified help when I need it. I would definitely recommend this site to others.
Fabulous Spanish tutor!
This has been a most pleasant experience! This system made it easy to find a tutor in my area and the tutor we used was EXCELLENT! WyzAnt was very quick and simple to use. I did not have to wait long at all for a response or for arrangements to be made. I would definitely use it again! For me, this was an unknown system so I was concerned about how it would all work out. The system itself is set up to be straightforward. I really like how the biographies are posted too. You can read all about the tutor and their experience. We found someone who was a perfect fit - superb qualifications, kind and patient demeanor, and a joy to work with!!! What made this so great was the tutor herself! She had outstanding credentials and was very accommodating! My 20 year old needed help with her college Spanish work and was only home for the weekend. Our tutor completely understood, dropped everything, and came to the rescue! You have NO IDEA how much we appreciated that! My daughter loved Fabiola! The tutoring session was fantastic. We received one-on-one, careful attention. I have no doubt that my daughter will want to work with Fabiola again and again and we look forward to that. I give WyzAnt high marks and our tutor 10 stars!!!
