Process was easy
My husband and I wanted to get Spanish lessons. I found WyzAnt on the web. I was a little hesitant to try it but we did. We found a great tutor who has been terrific and patient with us. Excellent service!

Absolute Amazing Tutoring Experience
Using WyzAnt has been great, as it really provided me the chance to learn a language when my school was not offering it. Immediately upon registering, I was able to see quite a lot of people teaching said language in the area around where I live. I was quickly contacted by many, but in the end, chose one who has been absolutely incredible. WyzAnt has been a great help to me in my learning experience, and I would recommend it to many.
Great Tutor Search and Selection
Heard about our current tutor from a friend who found him through WyzAnt. Was able to look up the tutor and find information about him though WyzAnt very easily. The information was helpful, and I loved that there were background checks. It helped me feel more comfortable hiring someone I did not already know. The payment and correspondence through WyzAnt has been super easy. I love how simple it is. We are also thrilled with our tutor! Our daughter has gone from failing to 100's since we started using Jerome! That is better success than I could have hoped for!!!
Easy Tutor Find
My experience with WyzAnt has been very nice. I got immediate response from several tutors in my area and was able to secure one to start right away. Also, every time my daughter meets with her tutor, I get an email right away with a short summary of what they work on. That's very reassuring.
Most helpful website
This website is a powerful resource for quality local tutors. My son is in high school and needed help with AP / IB Trig/ Precalc at the beginning of the school year. Within just 6 hours of starting my research online, coming across the WyzAnt website, and contacting a few tutors from the site, I was able to make appointments with two tutors for the next weekend. Very impressive. Both tutors were excellent with extensive knowledge about this particular high school math course which really is a college course. One of the two, also tutors physics and was able to help my son connect the dots between his math and physics classes. Payments are a breeze through WyzAnt.
Great search selection and experience

Great WyzAnt Experience
My experience with WyzAnt has been very positive. Once I registered, and put my email address and my phone number on record, I was contacted very quickly by a tutor. We made arrangements to meet and the first lesson was very positive. WyzAnt then promptly followed up with a review of the lesson by the tutor and also asked for my review. I was very impressed with these communications. My subsequent lessons have followed that same pattern. I appreciate the prompt feedback and the asking for my reaction after each lesson. Very happy with the tutors I have used!
I am a new customer and in the last 10 days I have used three tutors. Two of them have been outstanding. One was a very good tutor, but he just was not a fit for my child and I was happy to be able to use the one hour guarantee. I think the guarantee gives you a lot of confidence to try tutors, rather than looking for tutors on Craigslist or the internet. There are a lot of tutoring companies in Los Angeles and many of them are extremely expensive in the $100 to $200 an hour range. I was really happy to see that the tutors on WyzAnt were very reasonable and there was a wide variety to choose from. In addition, when you use a tutoring service, they choose the tutor for you. With WyzAnt, you read the profile and speak with the tutors directly so you know who you're hiring. Pros: Good variety Easy to use website Quantity discount Excellent quality tutors One hour guarantee Approved subject list (very helpful to verify tutor quality) Cons: Some tutors take a long time to reply to an initial email Photos missing or poor quality (I think photos help you feel more comfortable with meeting a stranger) It would be nice to get more education info like name of school, year graduated, major, G.P.A., as some tutors have very little listed. Not enough student feedback I found myself choosing the tutors that had the best quality photos, the most feedback, and the best written profile. The amount of information given in the profile really makes a difference in your ability to be able to properly choose the right tutor, and, the more detailed a profile is, the less likely it will be that you'll choose somebody who can't adequately fulfill your needs. People who have written a short, or narrow profile, I tend to stay away from. I also found I never chose a tutor with the missing photo; there's something about a photo that's reassuring. The other thing I found was that I was never attracted to profiles that were the most expensive or self aggrandizing but I was also not attracted to the lowest and/or cheapest. I found that the majority of tutors I wanted to contact were in the middle, came from "name-brand" private or well-known state schools, and had majors within their area of tutoring. For example, I would never choose a music major as a math tutor, even though they might be exceptionally good, if the profile didn't address it in the profile. Well, I hope you find my two cents helpful. I would, one hundred percent, recommend searching out tutors that fit your needs, I've had an outstanding experience so far.
We LOVE WyzAnt!!
My son has always has struggled a bit when it came to math, but this year starting 6th grade and moving on to algebra was awful for him from day 1. He is a smart kid over all, but when he looks at number and letters together, it's like a foreign language to him. His math teacher mentioned WyzAnt to us when we discussed finding a private tutor for him. He has currently been seeing Alicia for 2 weeks and in that time, his grade has gone from a 40% to an 89%. She explains math in a way that really makes it click for him and ALWAYS does it with a smile! She is so super great and I am so thankful that we found her. I can't even begin to imagine what his progress will be in a another month if this is the result of just 2 short weeks. WyzAnt has made this whole process, from finding a tutor to making a payment, really easy! We will 100% be sticking with Alicia for as long as she will have us! Hopefully all through his high school graduation. Woohoo for WyzAnt and Ms. Alicia! They rock!
Great Tutor
My experience with WyzAnt has been amazing. Theresa is a great tutor, always on time and makes sure you understands before you leave. I see my grades on papers and I get nothing but A's! I could not ask for a better service as WyzAnt nor a better tutor.
Great Tutor and Site
I was looking for a tutor for my son and a Google search came up with WyzAnt. So far, the experience has been great. It was easy to find a tutor in the categories I was looking for. The entire process from initial contact, communication, scheduling, and payment has been seamless. The tutor (Steve C.) is extremely knowledgeable, answers emails quickly, and is on time. My son has only had two sessions thus far, but I am extremely happy with what I have experienced.

User friendly
WyzAnt is a user friendly site. Initially, I had trouble navigating the site and payment options. However, the live telephone support guided me through this process. I will use WyzAnt for all of my tutor needs and will recommend WyzAnt to my classmates.

Easy Search and Helpful Tutors
My search for a tutor was rather easy. I just plugged in biology tutor and lots of sites came up. WyzAnt was very internet friendly and I had several tutors contact me. My tutor I chose has been very helpful, listens to my needs and knows the material and how to teach it. I like how I do not need to exchange money with the tutor but is all handled through WyzAnt. Also receiving receipt of payment and what my tutor went over is very helpful. Overall I am very satisfied with WyzAnt and would recommend their service to others. I would definitely use them again, hopefully this is my last time since I graduate from college this spring.
WyzAnt is awesome
I have never had to find a tutor before so was apprehensive about using an online site, and selecting a tutor without any references from friends or acquaintances. But I'm used to using online reviews to help me find other things (rental homes, good restaurants, well-liked doctors), so I figured I would give this a shot when my son told me he was struggling in algebra 2 and wanted a tutor. I love how easy it was to enter the subject and the distance from our house and gain a list of potential tutors. The information the tutor posted, the tutor hours logged, the hourly fee, and reviews helped me narrow the large field down to one person. It was easy to contact the tutor and set up an interview. We hit the jackpot, because my search paid off and I found someone who was able to help my son understand things he had been struggling with after only 3 one hour lessons. He got a B on his second test, after getting a D on his first, before he had a tutor! I'm so happy we found this site, and I'm sure to use it in the future if my children need tutors in other subjects. It is easy to make payments as well, and I love the reminders about each class and the summaries of what was worked on during each class from the tutor.
Tutor search success
I tried another search app and the individuals weren't as motivated as the ones on WyzAnt. I'm very pleased with my tutor search and selection. I'd use WyzAnt again.
Amazing Tutor and A Great Resource
This website is such a great resource. I have already recommended the website to several friends and plan on recommending the site to my students as well. In addition, Mrs. Barbara T. is an excellent tutor. In the short time my daughter has been working with Mrs. T., her confidence has grown and her grade in French Honors 3 is a solid B. On the last quiz, my daughter received an 85%. Her score was the best quiz score she has received all year. I highly recommend this website. We will definitely be utilizing Mrs. T. for the remainder of the year.
