Great Experience and Terrific Tutor
My son wanted some Spanish tutoring over the summer to get a "leg up" on the coming school year. It's always a concern to find a reputable company to do ANYTHING online. Best Tutor EVER!
I just started taking a math class, that I didn't understand at all. So I googled tutors and WyzAnt came up. I did a search for the class I was taking and narrowed it down quickly to my tutor. She has been amazing! She walks me through each step and if I don't understand she takes her time and really shows me. I would definitely recommend her and WyzAnt to anyone looking for a tutor. Very good customer service
My experience with Wyzant has been very good so far. I had some difficulties at the beginning how to work with them. You need to give your payment information before being able to share any private information with the tutors but the customer service took the time to explain. I even got a $10.00 rebate at the first lesson. My experience with the first tutor I chose was not good and I got a call the next day from Wyzant about it. They gave me full refund. The second tutor I chose is a great tutor.

I have had confusion about tutor profiles being in accurate with regards to the distance in miles they would travel. When I contacted a tutor it stated in the profile they would travel within a 15 mile radius. Unfortunately,I had to travel to them. I was in need of a tutors expertise and so without question, I traveled. My confusion lead me to call the customer service # and share my frustration and ask if I was tied to this particular tutor. What I received from the customer sales representative was more than I could have expected. She first apologized and told me that she was so sorry I had to travel and would credit me back that time (which has ALREADY been done). Next she helped me find another tutor to fit my needs. Followed by an email explaining our conversation. I felt like I mattered and that my experience with Wyzant was important to her. In a world where most generally, we feel like we are a # or we are sent to another department because, the person answering the phone doesn't deal with whatever we are calling about, this was HUGE to me. I will and would recommend this service to anyone who could benefit from it. I have now found a tutor, on campus and fits my educational needs. Thank you to the customer service representative who made this possible in one step, one call and no transfers!
Finding a tutor
It was very easy to find a French tutor for my daughter using Wyzant. We selected a few from their details that were local and contacted them by email. Then we set up a lesson and have gone from there. The tutor is excellent and is just what we were looking for. Thank you Wyzant for a good service. I also appreciated the call from the customer service team to make sure that everything was going ok with my search.
Easy and Efficient Tutor Search and Payment
Within 2 days we found a tutor and made weekly arrangements for in-house algebra lessons for 2 of my daughters. It was easy, convenient and our tutor is fabulous with the kids and very knowledgeable in all levels of math. We're very happy with the program.
Very Useful Site!
I've gone to WyzAnt twice now - once for an ESL tutor for a teenager and once to set up private art lessons for a child - and both times I was very happy with the experience. WyzAnt has had plenty of available choices in my local area for both topics and the potential tutors that I have contacted have all been responsive. The two tutors that I have worked with have been awesome! And the website makes it easy to arrange for payments - as well as keeping records of the details of each lesson - what was covered, how the tutor thought it went and how the student and I thought it went. I will definitely go back any time I need to arrange a tutor again, for any topic and for students of any age!
Excellent Tutor
I've found that I can't rely on my daughter's school to recommend a tutor, so we have to find help on our own. Wyzant has been a great source for helping us find a Music Theory tutor for my daughter. They give you an option of qualified tutors to chose from, the billing couldn't be easier and the customer service reps have been very helpful. Very good experience so far, the web site is very friendly and easy to use, I am also happy to know that I don't have to pay the tutors directly. I wasn't very lucky with the first 2 tutors and wyzant did not let me pay for it, now I am happy to have found the tutor that my son felt comfortable with. Math Tutor Search
I am new to the VA area and it was hard for me to find tutor center’s during the summer break. I goggled math tutors in my area and Wyzant popped up. I got a phone not too long after I created an account and Sarah posted a blurb and I got lots of feedback. With the amount of responses it was easy to stick to the schedule that best fit my schedule. I recently started tutoring with Connie for my 10 year daughter. The first session was more social however, once Connie started on the work that my daughter stated she is having issues, it was obvious the areas that my daughter needs work in. Also it didn’t help that we are just coming off of summer vacation. I liked Connie’s approach with allowing my daughter to explain her reasoning but showing her better efficient way complete the problem. Connie started with division but I think maybe going back to a few steps may be needed. Connie is scheduled for Monday’s and Wednesday, and I am tempted to increase her visits just to really work on the basics. I will make the determination based on the home work load as the year progresses. I really look forward for Connie’s visits.

Great source of hard to find instructors/tutors
Finally, after of several months of wondering how I could successfully begin another career at my age (70), I found this site. I had many qualified tutors, most with impressive credentials, to choose from. Instead of constantly putting aside my burning desire to become a public speaker, I was able to take positive action toward achieving this goal.

Finding a good local tutor.
After having little to no help from the school system except for before and after school tutoring from the same teacher he had his Algebra 1 class with, I resorted to looking online. Skeptical about it at first, I was surprised at how smooth and easy it was. With all the informative references and reviews of the various tutors, I found a great match for my son. I would highly recommend this service to other parents who are having trouble getting teachers to respond to their emails and requests for help. I feel very much more in control of the situation now that my son is getting the help he needs. His tutor, Clint is very calm and laid back and is clear and great at explaining the material. He's so good in fact that my son asked me why he wasn't a teacher himself. He definitely would be an excellent one. So grateful.

Great Algebra I teacher...
My daughter is special, plain and simple. She wants to be her best and enjoys learning and excelling. She has been in private schools all her life and has been an excellent student in academically aggressive environments. During her first year of middle school, our family experienced a great deal of stress, however, my daughter maintained her honor roll status. We had to move to public school for 7th grade last year and although our level of stress at home was overwhelming, she pulled out distinguished honor roll status again. I believe in "school all year", so, I've had tutors work with my kids all summer for years now. I couldn't afford my old tutor so I went online to find someone new. I'd never heard of Wyzant, but as I read the reviews and descriptions of the tutors, I thought we would give it a try. I am so pleased. We chose one tutor and she is doing a great job with my daughter. During their first session, I saw how neat and prepared she was and I immediately knew my daughter would enjoy and learn during their time together. The tutor is thoughtful and she is patient; she can see that my daughter is hardworking and smart, so she pushes her too. I am very happy thus far. Wyzant scored with our family. Thank you.
Started with frustration but overall great website
I started looking for a tutor for my 6 year old son who has dyslexia. The WyzAnt website gave me many options close to my home. The first tutor I hired didn't work out. After the second session she pulled me aside and told me she would only try one more session with him because he's not getting his letter sounds and she couldn't move on to the next lesson with him. This left me frustrated and confused, I hired her because my some isn't getting his letter sounds and needed help and she specialized in kids with dyslexia. The first session she did was a assessment to see where he was so this session was really the first lesson. After that I was skeptical about finding another tutor. After a couple days WyzAnt called me to see how my experience had been so far. I explained my situation and the customer service representative couldn't have been more understanding and helpful. With in 5 minutes of our conversation she emailed me a list of tutors in my area I haven't even seen. Since then I have found a great tutor within walking distance to my house. My son has fun with her and can't wait until his next session. My recommendation would be to ask a lot of questions before hiring a tutor. You want to make sure it will be a good fit. I thought the first tutor would be good because of her specialized program but didn't have the patients. With the second I asked several questions and asked for a description of what techniques she would use to help my son as well as what her expectations as a tutor are. This websites customer service is excellent just do your homework beforehand hiring someone.

Great Tutor Search
Finding the right tutor was very easy with Wyzant. The information for each tutor included their location, experience and education. We narrowed are selection by determining who was closest to our home (for scheduling this just makes sense for both us and the tutor) and their individual experience. We heard back from the tutor within a day. She has been wonderful and our son has shown remarkable improvement in his math scores.

Tutor search made easy
It was quite simple to find a tutor. We have had 3 sessions so far, and all is going well. The ability to pay with my American Express card is awesome! I even get membership reward points! Wyzant is a terrific, easy, user-friendly service!
Pretty easy-to-use site
Although private tutoring is pretty expensive, Wyzant makes it easy to find the location, subject, and price range you're looking for. One problem I noticed was that when I searched for organic chemistry tutors a lot of general chemistry tutors came up as well (not what I was looking for). All around it's a pretty good interface but could use some tweaking.

Great Tutor Search
Hi. I live in New Jersey but my Aunt is in Florida and I needed to find someone to help her learn an IPad. I googled a number of different ways to find people and finally WyzAnt showed up. I wrote to about 4 tutors and was happy to hear from them. We decided to go with one, because he was experienced in helping older people and also knew the IPad. He has been amazing with her. It's a slow process for her but she tells me how patient and kind he is and how much she enjoys the sessions with him. Helpful customer support
The site is very professional, easy to navigate and gives enough choices. What I like most though, is that there is no payment at the time of the lesson, as it is handled ahead of time (the customer service was friendly and informative in that area.) It is much easier to concentrate on the lesson than have to think about the "money". Also, a review of what is taught is submitted after the lesson and that is very helpful to track one's progression. Overall, a very functional and pleasant experience.
Great service & found the perfect tutor!
After shopping around at several brick & mortar tutoring centers, I stumbled upon this website. I was able to immediately find a tutor to help my daughter in Algebra and we have just been so pleased. She has made the highest scores in her class after barely passing the class last year!

Using Wyzant was very easy. It was our first experience with a tutoring service. We were able to view profiles easily and all the tutors we checked into contacted us promptly. My daughter and I were extremely happy with the tutor we chose. Her personality and teaching style meshed perfectly with my daughter. The tutor went above and beyond and emailed my daughter extra lessons etc. My daughter was able to easily bring up her grade from D to A. Great Tutor Search and Selection
My experience has been great! I've been fortunate I found a tutor in our area who has strengths in the areas my kids needed. I very much appreciate his flexibility and his willingness to come to our house to work. My child has said he explains the material well and he has a better understanding of the subjects they've been working in. He's well-rounded and is able to help in all areas including those beyond his listed specialties. My only issue was having to give a payment form before agreeing to work with a tutor. I didn't see the notification, but perhaps I should have seen it. In any case, I wasn't excited about giving my credit card before committing to working with someone although I ended up doing it anyway. Overall experience has been great!

I am grateful that I have found a very helpful tutor. It is wonderful that we do not have to worry about the exchange of money and just concentrate on the lessons. I have found a tutor that lives in the same area so never one of us is required to travel far for our lesson.

Very easy process
