Math Tutor Search
I am new to the VA area and it was hard for me to find tutor center’s during the summer break. I goggled math tutors in my area and Wyzant popped up. I got a phone not too long after I created an account and Sarah posted a blurb and I got lots of feedback. With the amount of responses it was easy to stick to the schedule that best fit my schedule. I recently started tutoring with Connie for my 10 year daughter. The first session was more social however, once Connie started on the work that my daughter stated she is having issues, it was obvious the areas that my daughter needs work in. Also it didn’t help that we are just coming off of summer vacation. I liked Connie’s approach with allowing my daughter to explain her reasoning but showing her better efficient way complete the problem. Connie started with division but I think maybe going back to a few steps may be needed. Connie is scheduled for Monday’s and Wednesday, and I am tempted to increase her visits just to really work on the basics. I will make the determination based on the home work load as the year progresses. I really look forward for Connie’s visits.
Great Web Site
Hi Wyzant Team. I really love this site. I was impressed with the degree of user-friendliness and I love the whole online payment system. It was also great to be able to see the different tutors' profiles and rates up front. The whole site and system made it a breeze to find our 7 year old a great tutor. I had not heard of the site but my dad found it using a basic google search and thought it might be helpful. Keep up the good work!
Great source of hard to find instructors/tutors
Finally, after of several months of wondering how I could successfully begin another career at my age (70), I found this site. I had many qualified tutors, most with impressive credentials, to choose from. Instead of constantly putting aside my burning desire to become a public speaker, I was able to take positive action toward achieving this goal.

Within minutes I found the right tutor close to my home. I sent her an email and receive a reply within hours.

Finding a good local tutor.
After having little to no help from the school system except for before and after school tutoring from the same teacher he had his Algebra 1 class with, I resorted to looking online. Skeptical about it at first, I was surprised at how smooth and easy it was. With all the informative references and reviews of the various tutors, I found a great match for my son. I would highly recommend this service to other parents who are having trouble getting teachers to respond to their emails and requests for help. I feel very much more in control of the situation now that my son is getting the help he needs. His tutor, Clint is very calm and laid back and is clear and great at explaining the material. He's so good in fact that my son asked me why he wasn't a teacher himself. He definitely would be an excellent one. So grateful.
Great Tutor Search
I found this website to be extremely helpful in locating a tutor for my needs. My tutor has been wonderful, he is able to explain the math in "layman's" terms for me to comprehend.
Great Flexibility in choosing a Tutor
I am enjoying the flexibility of choosing the best possible Tutor fit for my daughter. Being stuck with one Tutor and not having a choice to experience the teaching skills of other tutors is one of the reasons why I choose Wyzant. The Tutors are very professional and while the teaching styles are different, they are all very experienced.

Hello, Overall my experience with WyzAnt has been good. I just had the one issue with the one tutor and I was able to resolve that with customer service. Things are going well. And my daughter is happy, I am happy. The new tutor is a wonderful person. Thanks WyzAnt!!!
Great Tutor
I found a fantastic tutor in Lucilia G! She is so dedicated and totally focused on the student's needs...she is an absolute gem! This is my only experience with WyzAnt, but so far it has been terrific! Thank you!
Great Algebra I teacher...
My daughter is special, plain and simple. She wants to be her best and enjoys learning and excelling. She has been in private schools all her life and has been an excellent student in academically aggressive environments. During her first year of middle school, our family experienced a great deal of stress, however, my daughter maintained her honor roll status. We had to move to public school for 7th grade last year and although our level of stress at home was overwhelming, she pulled out distinguished honor roll status again. I believe in "school all year", so, I've had tutors work with my kids all summer for years now. I couldn't afford my old tutor so I went online to find someone new. I'd never heard of Wyzant, but as I read the reviews and descriptions of the tutors, I thought we would give it a try. I am so pleased. We chose one tutor and she is doing a great job with my daughter. During their first session, I saw how neat and prepared she was and I immediately knew my daughter would enjoy and learn during their time together. The tutor is thoughtful and she is patient; she can see that my daughter is hardworking and smart, so she pushes her too. I am very happy thus far. Wyzant scored with our family. Thank you.
Started with frustration but overall great website
I started looking for a tutor for my 6 year old son who has dyslexia. The WyzAnt website gave me many options close to my home. The first tutor I hired didn't work out. After the second session she pulled me aside and told me she would only try one more session with him because he's not getting his letter sounds and she couldn't move on to the next lesson with him. This left me frustrated and confused, I hired her because my some isn't getting his letter sounds and needed help and she specialized in kids with dyslexia. The first session she did was a assessment to see where he was so this session was really the first lesson. After that I was skeptical about finding another tutor. After a couple days WyzAnt called me to see how my experience had been so far. I explained my situation and the customer service representative couldn't have been more understanding and helpful. With in 5 minutes of our conversation she emailed me a list of tutors in my area I haven't even seen. Since then I have found a great tutor within walking distance to my house. My son has fun with her and can't wait until his next session. My recommendation would be to ask a lot of questions before hiring a tutor. You want to make sure it will be a good fit. I thought the first tutor would be good because of her specialized program but didn't have the patients. With the second I asked several questions and asked for a description of what techniques she would use to help my son as well as what her expectations as a tutor are. This websites customer service is excellent just do your homework beforehand hiring someone.
The whole experience with WyzAnt is great
My husband found you guys for me and checked out the site in detail. He is extremely careful about things on the internet. He helped me choose my tutor and it turned out to be an incredible experience. I look forward to my lessons very much. He couldn't be any nicer! He is really understanding my challenges. I am 61 years old and going back to college so I sure needed this class and help. God blesses us all!
