Knowledgeable Tutors
I used the Wyzant tutoring service, several years ago, for myself. I found it to be helpful then. Now, almost 4 years later, I'm using the service for my son. I have been very pleased with the service and I highly recommend it. There are a variety of tutors available. You have to carefully select the tutor that is the right fit for you. Fortunately, we have both been able to do just that.
Has worked out perfect for what my son needed!
We looked into the tutoring services out their and found that they wanted you to commit to them for a long period of time and pay for the entire time upfront. Maybe that is great for some but my son needed help in one class and I prefer to pay for what he needed now not for what he "might" need in the future. Your site had several choices and most had a lot of feedback so it wasn't hard to find one near by and that others had tried and liked. I would highly recommend using your site.
Great for tutor search
One of my friend used Wyzant before and came highly recommended to find a great tutor from her. I like the fact that you can find so many qualified people at one place and with reviews and back ground checks it is easy to try some one for your child's tutoring needs. First lesson is backed up by Wyzant is also plus feature.
Found a great tutor in minutes
Was feeling overwhelmed as I began a search for Precalculus and Physics tutoring (high school level). I was referred to Wyzant, and quickly found a few leads. Within days I had my daughter set up with a fantastic tutor. Great experience!

Therefore, you do not have to re-type...made my life easy), the selected tutors respond and you can discuss the subject to ensure all concerns are addressed prior to scheduling an appointment. In addition, Wyzant payment method is ideal--they have options (Pay Pal is a great one). Once the payment account is secured, the selected tutor sends you a work plan which includes time, date, and a join online category. This is simply an amazing experience!! The tutors are knowledgeable and professional. I will recommend Wyzant to everyone and will continue to use this service!

Amazing experience
I stumbled onto this site by googling tutors in the Albany area. I am a returning student to college after a 32 year break. I was looking for someone to help with writing a research paper. I know the basics, but needed help with organization, citation and mechanics of the skill of writing. I was hoping to come in contact with someone I would feel comfortable with, someone who really cared about my concerns with making myself a better more skilled writer, someone I could trust, to help me get the best grade that I could. I hit the jackpot with my tutor Elizabeth. She was above and beyond what I could have asked for. My tutor was professional, while both kind and friendly, considerate to my availability, and was able to supply me with exactly what I was looking for. My tutor truly cared, and boosted my confidence. I am so pleased with my experience with her. I highly, without any hesitation- recommend her and the Wyzant team. I started using Wyzant last semester as a last result cause Accounting was a new and tricky subject to me and didn't have the luxury of time to spend trying to figuring out complex problems.That was the first time I ever got tutor for any subject whatsoever so far it has been a great Experience. I am hoping to keep using this site for tutorial reference as long I need help to clarify subjects matters that I don't have a good understanding of; at this time 3 for 3 and honestly all of them had 5 stars from me for financial acct 1, Intermediate Alg, and financial Act 2 Believe me I am a returning Student over 50 and because of the knowledgeable tutor selection from the site I feel more confident after every meetings/lessons sessions.
Found a fabulous spanish tutor
Your site helped me locate and employ a fabulous Spanish tutor for my granddaughter. In two weeks, her grades have already gone from Ds to a mid C and I can see that those As and Bs are coming back soon. Our tutor is professional, a delightful person and just really remarkable in her knowledge of the subject matter as well as the school system and giving us tips on how to get more help from the school system. I don't know how we could be more pleased.

I was hesitant to use this service for the first time but after not being able to find a local tutor right away because of the holidays, the online post of what I was looking for was shown nationwide to other tutors, I got responses from some great tutors across the US that were willing to help on short notice...it was a lifesaver for me! Great Tutor Search and Selection
I have tried other methods to try and find tutors before, but I always ended up being frustrated by the response time of the company that organized the service, the prices, or the tutor's response times, or even the tutor's competence at times. I've used tutors from Wyzant for two subjects so far, and I love it. There are so many tutors to search from, and everything about them is on their page, including rates and reviews, which greatly helped me choose my tutors. The response times from Wyzant and the tutors are prompt, which is unlike any other tutoring website I used. And also, Wyzant seems to pay their tutors fairly, which is very rare in the tutoring industry. I highly recommend Wyzant to anyone who needs tutoring.

Terrific Tutor Search and Screening tool
I found a good number of people who I thought would be a good fit, and any of them would have been I believe, but the selection was large enough that I pinpointed someone who was a great fit in ways I wasn't even shopping for - for example she was able to make suggestions about issues that came up about classwork apart from the actual paper we were editing - because the selection and screening processes had depth and detail. Excellent Selection of Tutors
I have been using Wyzant for about three months. While searching for a tutor to teach me French, I was very impressed with the selection of tutors. All appeared to be well qualified. The tutor I chose to learn from is very good. I am also taking lessons in Spanish. I found the Spanish language tutor through an acquaintance and it so happens that she too is listed on Wyzant. Like my French language tutor my Spanish language tutor is also very good. It appears the Wyzant is very good at the selection process.
Very helpful resource for help with Algebra II
Our son was having some trouble with Algebra II - I remembered how thankful I was when my dad paid for a tutor for my sisters and myself when we were struggling with Algebra so I Googled "help me with algebra" and up popped Wyzant - which I had never heard of before - we were so pleased to find just the right tutor for our son right here in our town of Poulsbo - she has been coming weekly to help and is very much appreciated - the website and app are easy to navigate - thank you Wyzant !!!
Great service
I am grateful for finding this site. There are tutoring services that you have to take your child to and it just feels like school. This service allows my child to get out of the school atmosphere and meet at a local library or coffee shop or book store. My child looks forward to the tutoring because she he classroom atmosphere is stressful for her and this breaks up the homeschooling program that she is currently doing. So, thank you for making it easy for us homeschooling parents.

I was sitting in my chair looking at my textbook and just not getting it. This course is self-paced and online so I don't really have someone I can turn to for help. My mom saw me so perplexed at how to move forward and suggested I look into local tutors. Lo and behold, WyzAnt has provided a way to find local tutors for a vast array of different subject matter! I have since been working with two different tutors, and although the price is high, the confidence and direction (and hope!) my tutors have given me with my course is priceless! Thank you WyzAnt!
Wonderful site for finding the perfect tutor
After speaking to representatives from the major test prep companies, I realized that test prep is just a business and there is no investment on their part to prepare your child. I was losing faith in finding a great tutor when I found this site. I really wished I knew about WyzAnt sooner. I was able to search for a tutor that met all the criteria I was looking for. In my case, I decided on a tutor that worked online and it has been a great experience. The tutor started right away on getting my son ready for the ACT and she is building his confidence. I am so pleased with the tutor we chose and I know I will be using the site again.

Wyzant is just so user friendly
From a parents perspective. When your child no matter what age is struggling with a school subject you want to do everything to help them but when they are learning at a higher level than you comprehend you have to look elsewhere for assistance. Googling local math tutors is how wyzant came into our scope. After clicking through and reading about the process it was very easy to find suitable tutors and the information given made it even easier to find one matching the child's needs. I would recommend wyzant to other parents.
Prompt tutor referral
After 3 attempts at trying to study on my own using different math tutorials online, I failed the Florida PERT (math only) for college. Passing is important to me because it will allow me to skip prep and intermediate math classes that will hold me back. I'm only required to take college algebra for my degree. I desperately needed a tutor to help me understand algebra. Within 24 hours of my request for a math tutor, I received a response from a local tutor who offered me a rate that worked best with my budget and had open availability. After 3 sessions with my tutor, I gained the confidence and material I needed to study to help me increase the chance of passing the PERT. Very Pleased
My experience so far using the WyzAnt Tutoring company has been excellent. My daughter found a knowledgeable Math tutor in our area where we live, Mr Avery, and is working on her weaknesses in Calculus. One day, I was browsing online for a Russian tutor located in my area. I was happy to find several tutors in my area, all of them having gone through background checks via the site. I think the most important thing about this site though is that the tutors are trustworthy, reliable, high quality, and flexible. Possibly the best tutor I've ever had
In the past I've had difficulties learning some topics, however a recent tutor by the name of Molly C. changed all of that. She was organized, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. I felt so comfortable learning from her that I am positive I will use her for future tutoring needs exclusively. WyzAnt did a good job connecting me to her.

I'm so happy I found your website. It is extremely easy to use. It was easy to find a great tutor. I sent an email to Michael and immediately got a response and that same week he had his first lesson with my son. I don't have to worry about payments, it's already deducted from my credit card and then I receive a receipt via email. Considering the specifics of our particular project, we found the perfect tutor for the task. The project consisted of the recording of a song already in the English market by a 13 year old artist in a German translation. We needed a tutor close to our neighborhood, that could help us in a rush situation and that could be present in the recording studio. We found one that not only fit the requirements but ended up been a great tutor.

Very helpful service. We were not sure of what to expect. We've never gone online for such a service and were rather leery of the whole process (the billing, the individuals).
